I got the Anova Nano 2 weeks ago as a gift and I've used it twice the last week for steak and chicken breast. Incredibly easy and some of the best protein I've cooked at home in quite some time.

whatever is cheaper.

honestly i've seen them in target & walmart for around $50 these days and assume as long as the temp works correctly you're good to go.

nobody needs bluetooth or wifi.

Polyscience is the goat but joule and Anova are the best affordable options

The nano is fine, I would get the highest wattage I could. I have used 3 of them (Anova original pre wi-fi, joule and a nano. The nano I believe is the weakest it takes the longest by far to heat up

The Joule was the favorite of America’s Test Kitchen.

Do you sear the steak? I enjoy a good “crust”.

I have really only noticed it when making it hotter than normal water. For a pumpkin pie dessert my family makes it gets up to like 175/180 which is higher than hot water by a good bit. Most of the time I leave clean water in it and reuse

@shadowlink can you share a recipe for the leg of lamb? We wanted to do one for Easter and couldn’t find one.

Not the Anova nano. I have one and use it often but wish I would have gone with the other model you can disassemble. Mineral deposits build up on the internal thermocouple and moving parts that cause issues and make the unit act funky. There is no good way to clean these deposits off completely (the recommended vinegar bath doesn't do shite).

I have the 120v Anova. We use it a lot. Of course steaks and chicken breasts are great, but I really like the longer cooks on cheap cuts. It can make a chuck roast taste and feel like prime rib.

Done these 3 years in a row for turkey day. Most of my family likes filing more than crust so it works better for us. One year we did like 3 different jarred desserts (made a chocolate cake and banana pudding in the others) and it was fun to grab and go for dessert for the holidays. They get better after setting up overnight in the fridge too; highly recommend
