The local hospital here is laying off people, each group is fighting to be the ones to check temperatures at the door.

Believe me I know. The irony of hospital workers getting cut is amazing.

It's part and parcel of how stupid this strategy has become.

Is asthma even a top preexisting condition for covid fatalities?

Pretty sure it’s low on the list and probably accompanied by obesity, diabetes, or immune disorders for people dying.

Our friend down the road is a surgery tech, she says its chaos. Not because of overload, but they can't figure out how to lay everyone off yet still have coverage and comply with contract obligations to the workers. The hospital is more or less shutdown for non-emergencies but no corona patients.

It’s on the lower end but still would be cited in the OP’s ridiculous post.

I promise you that they can be employed today if they would like to be.

Travel RN pay is upwards of $4500 a week. My wife is working at a hospital working 7 straight 12s.

That's only the ones they know about, of course, they could have a pre-existing condition that is unknown..

Yep, and so can you. Good luck.

Absolutely, and I could die of a brain aneurysm this afternoon. Living is dangerous to a person's health as my father always says.

There is nothing in any of the data that I can see that is alarming.

Oh so you think you do have an underlying health issue, I see.

I don't know of any, that doesn't mean it doesn't exist. What is your point?

People’s response to this virus is as interesting as the virus.

Just like anything concerning the govt or Trump, people go to their corners and come out swinging. Never considering the vast amount of info that shows the truth is somewhere in the middle.

Seriously?

Flatten the curve was supposed to keep the hospitals from getting overrun, not EMPTY the hospitals!

Did you think social restriction measures were going to increase non-emergent medical appointments?

80% of providers are shutdown. Of course, there is going to a reduction in medical employment. Most doctors aren’t pulmonologist and ER physicians.

There are plenty of people on here saying something pretty close to that. “All the people dying are fatties and olds. Why should we care?” If you don’t think that’s a regular sentiment here, you’re probably not paying attention.
