Lead task force health experts Anthony S. Fauci and Deborah Birx both rejected an increasingly popular theory on Fox News and elsewhere: That coronavirus deaths are being inflated because people who are infected are actually dying of other things.
The theory has been promoted by Fox’s Tucker Carlson and Brit Hume and was a subject of a panel discussion on the network on Wednesday afternoon.
Birx was clear that if people have an underlying condition, it is exacerbated by the virus.
“So those individuals will have an underlying condition, but that underlying condition did not cause their acute death when it’s related to a covid infection,” she said. “In fact, it’s the opposite.”
Fauci then weighed in, warning against such “conspiracy theories.”
“You will always have conspiracy theories when you have a very challenging public health crises. They are nothing but distractions,” he said, adding: “I would just hope we just put those conspiracy stuff and let somebody write a book about it later on. But not now.”

so yes they may have had another condition like heart, cancer, etc., that they were going to die from
BUT,
were they going to die from those other conditions TODAY?

Dr Birx can’t see past the end of her nose.
Hospitals are being paid for having Covid patients. Of course they’re going to inflate the number at a time they’re hemorrhaging money.

“Last Friday I received a 7-page document that told me if I had an 86-year-old patient that had pneumonia but was never tested for COVID-19 but some time after she came down with pneumonia we learned that she had been exposed to her son who had no symptoms but later on was identified with COVID-19, then it would be appropriate to diagnose on the death certificate COVID-19,” Dr. Scott Jensen said.
Dr. Jensen explained that this is not a normal procedure.
Dr.. Jensen said for example if the same patient had pneumonia during flu season and he didn’t have a test confirming the patient also had influenza, he would never diagnose the patient with influenza on the death certificate.

So she is saying that if a patient has terminal cancer but complained about an excruciating headache right before death then that person died of a brain ailment?

Yep, people are making too big of a deal out of the "inflated" death numbers. Death is death. Sure it makes the actual numbers of death from COVID19 a bit unreliable, but can you blame hospitals for doing it since it's their only revenue stream right now (mostly)?

Pretty sure a headache does not exacerbate cancer..

That's an oversimplification.
The government is paying hospital medicare reimbursement rates for uninsured persons with COVID; they are not paying for every patient. Private insurance is still covering expenses for their insureds.

Furthermore, in general, Medicare reimbursement rates are lower than private insurance rates.

I lost both my parents to cancer. I know how it works that's why I questioned the doctor's statement. If more people are recovering from the virus than dying from it why is she adamant about if you have the virus at death then that is the reason of your death? bullshite.

That's really not what she said.
That's a gross misinterpretation of what she said that members of the media have run with.

And that means Covid + weak lungs = death from pneumonia or some other lung issue. Or heart issue = death by some cardiac issue. Etc. If Tucker and/or FOX missed that memo, it is on them. They were not paying attention or connecting the right dots. And they are fanning hysteria needlessly.

WUT?
We're all under house arrest based on inflated numbers.
Remember 1,500,000+ US deaths? You think this shutdown would have happened if average flu-season numbers were waved around?

LOCKDOWN is the NEW NORMAL

Its their newest manta.
Fauci did the same on NBC this morning. Then had the balls to say corona might actually be under reported because of any deaths at home. Unbelievable.

In statistics do statisticians recognize the difference between the words "with" and "from"?
Because if you die and have diabetes with COVID do you die from diabetes with COVID or die from COVID with diabetes?

So she doesn’t believe it after telling us very clearly in her press conference that they are?

Birx Rejects Theory that Coronavirus deaths are inflated after telling them explicitly to inflate the numbers.
There, fixed the title of the thread.

Then the underlying condition would be the cause of death and the virus would actually be the underlying condition. If people with no underlying condition are recovering from the virus then it seems the virus is just a secondary factor of death and not the reason for death.

Clinical findings
Believe it or not, all those tests and monitors that hospitals run and hook people up to give doctors a lot of helpful information.
