I am on lock-down by my wife, daughter, and son, which is worse than the state "stay at home" policy (SARCASISM). We cannot visit our children and grand kids (which is hard), so the only individuals I may see on a daily basis is my wife (no pics), her two lap dogs, and people I see while walking in our neighborhood.
I am protesting and starting next week I will go fishing by myself in God's country near Catfish Lake in Lafourche Parish. This should be a very safe option.
Please be safe.

sorta...
Elective surgery is shut down in the hospital and that is my area, but I am a licensed health care professional, and my skills have been marshalled to other areas in the hospital, in various support roles. I am in enough direct contact with ICU Covids to be concerning.

Doctor gave ole lady a quarentine order, my parents are elderly, i'm essential. I talked to a turtle for 2 hours today while I was fishing. Legit staying in a tent and bathing with a water hose.

Are they making you pay?
Many hotels here are letting healthcare workers stay for free right now(maximum of 14 days)

No
How hard is to grasp that if they don't live with you, you don't see them right now unless you have to (ex you work with them and can't work from home, etc, etc).

I have one son. I’m not keeping him away from every single other kid for months. You know daycares are open right?
ETA: Schools are closed to keep hundreds of kids from spreading it easily. We are trying to slow the spread, not stop it. My kid interacting with 5 other kids is a huge difference compared to 400 other kids. He’s 6. My wife and I still have work. He stays with her parents during the week. They live out in the country and he gets plenty of time outside. When he’s here on weekends, we’ve had friends over with their kids to play. Or he golfs with me. Or we play tee ball in the backyard. So no school. No day care. Limited interactions but we aren’t taking it away completely because he’s a kid and I value his happiness over just about anything. Deal with it.

Yeah...for those essential workers that have to leave their house to work and have no other option for childcare.
Totally different situation than whining about how it is just so hard to work from home all day and have your kids complain they can't go see their friends.

This is a temporary thing. Your kid will be just fine not playing with their friends for a short amount of time.

You likely have gone several months without sex with a human. This will just be like normal times for you

I'm not the one who will have to deal with it.
Your inlaws (who I'm assuming are over 60) will be the ones to "deal with it" since you have no problem letting your child interact with other kids who have interacted with who knows who and then go back to stay with your inlaws.
I'm guessing your inlaws are perfectly healthy though. No HTN, diabetes, etc?
It's one thing that your kid stays with them...understandable cause you need childcare. What is reckless is that you still are socializing with others with their kids.

If my wife’s mom gets in a wreck on her way over to pick up my son (which she is way more likely to do), am I at fault for that as well? That’s the logic you are using here. And it’s asinine.
People get sick and die. Happens every fricking day. People are going to get exposed to this virus eventually. Period. The whole point is to slow the spread. If her parents get it, it could be because they went to the grocery story or anywhere else. Could be my son. Their exposer is exponentially less likely right now but it will happen one day. When they get exposed (who’s to say they haven’t?), they will have access to an ICU bed if necessary. If they get it and die, I will be very sad. It won’t be my fault or anyone else’s other than their own for being overweight. frick you for buying into the bullshite and trying to blame me.

Wife, kid, dogs, and nanny is coming 1/2 days. Will probably start going in the office once a week, so I'll encounter about 4-6 people there.
