He swore an oath to protect and defend the constitution from foreign and domestic enemies of the US, not to obey orders blindly. There are times, like I highlighted above, when a field commander has the moral obligation to disobey orders to save the lives of his troops.

Oh wow, what a fun surprise to wake up to. Dropped this here last night and had a feeling it’d get a bunch of idiots riled up

Many failed to mention that wherever this carrier goes a large support group goes with it. Crozier sounds a lot similar to a FB Karen. This ship has a sickbay with qualified docs and nurses, he should have let them do their jobs. I do have to wonder how in the Hell did he become a carrier captain and how he got his ensign commission.

On top of that he showed self to be a drama queen. Claiming deaths were certain.
The first death from USS Theodore for Covid 19 was reported today. Approximate 600 sailors have tested positive. LINK

Statistically on a ship of 5000 people there will be 1-2 deaths even with young healthy people.

Here is the thing about this captain. If he was truly concerned about the health of his crew, why send out an unsecured email to 30-40 people outside his chain of command who can’t do jack shite to help instead of walking down the hall to his commanding officer and express his concerns to him considering the admiral was in a far better position to actually do something?

Agreed

But he’ll be able to retire at an O-5 pay, had that been an E4 saying this, that E4 would get skullfricked

I was wrong.
I'll own it.

However, the Captain still is a Drama Queen POS.

He went outside the chain of command.

Any concerns should have been handled in house.

Except they were operating under your golden guarantee.

I guess it’s easy for you to own it, you didn’t have anything at stake.
