Three NFL analysts believe Bengals should not draft Joe Burrow

According to analyst Michael Robinson, former defensive back DeAngelo Hall and former quarterback David Carr, the Bengals should focus on a different quarterback other than Burrow.
“Cincinnati should keep veteran Andy Dalton and trade back to get more quality picks,” Robinson wrote. “There's a good chance a team would give Cincy a few picks, including an additional first-rounder, to move out of the No. 1 pick. I would REALLY consider making a deal like that if I'm the Bengals. Depending on how far they move back, the Bengals could spend one of those picks on an off-the-ball linebacker who would immediately make the defense better -- Isaiah Simmons, Patrick Queen or Kenneth Murray. They could also spend one of their first-round selections on a premier offensive tackle. With later picks, they should find help at running back, defensive back and receiver (a position with great depth in this class).”
“The Bengals should draft a quarterback with the first pick, but contrary to popular opinion, I'd take Alabama's Tua Tagovailoa,” Hall wrote. “Now fully cleared to compete without any restrictions, according to the agency that represents him, Tua brings so many dimensions to an offense and his style would fit well with the weapons around him. Joe Burrow, who is coming off one of the best college seasons by a quarterback in history, lost a QB battle to Dwayne Haskins at Ohio State before he transferred to LSU. And Haskins might not even be the QB1 in Washington this year. Tua should be the guy.”

Is Joe Burrows a elite quaterback?

Please draft someone else... for burrows sake.

I'll try to be objective as I can possible be as an LSU fan.
I can understand making the argument for Tua, but
means absolutely nothing. The simple fact is that Tua is still a mystery. Now I am truly hoping for the best for the young man, but the book has yet to be closed on this injury. Lingering effects may be hiding around the corner, and to be clear, I hope this is not the case.
I get the argument, but I think Dalton has taken them as far as he can. I think it's time for some new blood.
Personally, I still give Joe the nod. He has proven to be more durable and shown he is not afraid to battle. I like Tua a lot, but I think he just has a big question mark hovering over him.

This would be good news for Burrow.
I sort of get the perspective that the Bengals have a ton of holes. They do have a ton of holes, and I'd worry Burrow gets destroyed before they get enough pieces around him.
I don't see any way I'd pick Tua over Burrow.

So many chances for new surgeries.

I don't like Burrow going to Cincy because of Mike Brown's strategy as GM.
The guy that I believe may fall into the perfect position is Jordan Love (Either Indy or New Orleans)

Right, but that makes even more sense to take him over Tua, who we've seen is already injury prone
What I don't get as well is why aren't you trying to upgrade your offensive line, knowing it's a weaker part of your team, in free agency or trade when you know you're about to draft what is to be your franchise QB?

They've drafted lineman in the 1st the last two years they just keep getting hurt.

Don't ever remember hearing this term before. A little help?

I don't get this at all. Dalton has no upside, and is known. He can take a great team to the playoffs and do nothing.

I think it's recognition the Bengals need a ground up overhaul and he's a stopgap for a few years until they have pieces.

So you don't take the most important piece of an overhaul, the QB?

What a lazy take.

Are the Bengals 1 QB away from competing? If not, why not trade down, still get a QB, get an extra 2 or 3 picks/1 1st rounder and a pick, etc.

I'd be okay with them taking Tua, as long as they get value for not taking burrow.

The same guy they benched mid season

Hall is an absolute idiot. And I liked him as a Skins player.
