Football season is 50/50 right now. This new LB is great and everything but he’s only here for one year. If he was a freshman, I would be more excited.

We won't have football this year, NCAA or NFL.

IF the season gets cancelled (which i doubt, it may be abridged, but not cancelled) they're going to give another year of eligibility to the players just like they did with the spring sports

Nobody told you you had to get excited. Just keep looking at that half empty glass and you’ll never be disappointed

That would be a fortunate turn of events for UCLA "football" if the season got cancelled.

Sadly, I agree football as we know it may be in jeopardy this fall. Likely shortened and/or delayed, maybe with no fans in the stands?

The odds are a lot better than that that football in some form happens this fall....maybe not on time, maybe not with as many fans, maybe not with as many games...BUT football in some form has at least an 85-90% chance of being played this fall in my opinion based on everything I'm hearing from all the movers and shakers.

The fact that they started talking last week about allowing athletes on campus even if other students are all remote is a pretty telling conversation in my mind.

The only way I see them being able to play:

-cancel all OOC games

-cancel all bowl games except the playoff

-make a 1 year exception for an 8 or 16 team playoff

-push back conference schedule into December & play all games in consecutive weeks leading up until playoff. No bye weeks

LSU’s schedule could look something like this.

Aug 24 (1st day of school) would start a condensed 5week conditioning program leading up to...

Oct 1st preseason practice

Oct 31 OM
Nov 7 FL
Nov 14 Ark
Nov 21 Miss St
Nov 28 Bama
Dec 5 SC
Dec 12 Aub
Dec 19 A&M

Dec 26th conf championship games
January 2nd Semi playoff
January 11th CFB champ

If you go to 8 or 16, you push these down into late January

How would that affect marquee non-conference games like Texas?

Desperate situation call for a desperate measure. Maybe they could fit one in if a game like UT could really make up lost money? Maybe put it at end of season?

ADs seem to hypothesize a season could be played into March

Yeah, but he aint getting any younger and at that point will probably just opt for the NFL.

I'd bet you would be bitching about something if the new LB had decided to play elsewhere.
