A friend of mine, who is a truck driver, posted something similar to the OP on FB the other day.
He's a good guy, but that didn't deter me from letting him know, that a lot of people reading his shite, are out of work right now, and wondering if they'll have a job to come back to.

I'm a lot more frustrated by the disgusting special interest money grab those DC TURDS perpetrated during this event in the name of "helping workers".
I get it- this is what they do on a regular basis. But the fact that they were unwilling to put their bullshite aside and respond immediately for once just really irks me.

Not sure I get the resentment here. From what I understand, if your AGI is over $75/150K (single/jointly), the amount of the stimulus checks start tapering off. So, let’s for instance say you’re filing jointly and your AGI is north of $200K, so you’re not qualifying for any stimulus (which I’m not actually sure would even be the case at that AGI).
Then, let’s assume your neighbor has a good job, paid into unemployment for years, has a wife who works part time for a little supplemental income, and two kids, but a joint AGI just under $150K. Let’s also assume he just got laid off off because of this and is making that big $41,600/year in unemployment, along with an extra $2,800 in stimulus cash.
Would you rather be in his boat, worrying about how you’re going to maintain the quality of life for your family over the long term? At least he’s got the pool...
Don’t get me wrong, I’m not being dismissive of your concerns, I’m just trying to say that sometimes, a little perspective is nice.

Nope wasn’t meant to sound that way!
This country is floating on the morale of the hardworking and I think it’s important to say “Good Job” to those that deserve it if they need to hear it.

That's fine, but the huge majority of "essential" people aren't battling anything on the front lines and should be thankful just to have the opportunity to continue normal life (relatively) while so many cannot by no fault of their own.
Plenty of "non-essential" folks are just as needed and important to our society. Not all non-essential folks are bartenders and very few essential folks are keeping your power on or driving ambulances.

same boat as you baw. It sucks but I just remind myself to be thankful that i still have a job.
But sure, i wish i could be working from home, mainly because 80% of my day at the office is spent on this website and i could be doing better things.

I do thoroughly enjoy seeing coworkers in other groups post pictures on Facebook sitting by the pool while on conference calls. That’s fun.
this is what kills me. That and the entirety of my job can be done remotely, but the boss wants us to keep coming in for "morale" for the plant employees. BS but its whatever

All I know is that my "essential" paycheck looks a lot like my "regular arse" paycheck

I was deemed unessential for all of one day.
And then they realized they fricked up.
It's been 12 hour days ever since.
I don't mind the working.
I don't mind the others at home.
I mind the fact that I'm receiving no additional compensation for doing 8 separate people's jobs better than they usually do them.
B careful there, you may pull a muscle trying to pat yourself on the back

I don’t know about everyone else but I would much rather have a secure job that I can continue to do through all of this than have to depend on the government for my family’s sustenance.
I think your perspective it skewed and you should consider how fortunate you are that you don’t have the added stress of figuring out who gets what and when from Uncle Sam.
Just my $.02 as someone who is also “essential”.
