MW2 Remastered with no Multiplayer?

Why would they release multiplayer for this game when they have MW2019 that came out last fall?

Seeing as Modern Warefare is average at best, I really don’t care. They have sucked enough money out of people as it is, give them what they want. Unless I can play all the maps on the new game and block out the garbage maps on the new game, I really don’t care about ‘splitting the fan base’.

I don't really get that argument tbh. It wouldn't split the playerbase, it would kill MW, but MW2 would thrive so it doesn't really matter. The net players gained, imo, would outweigh anything.

If multiplayer was released, I would imagine it would go the same as the MWR release. Decent, but nothing special. Nostalgia would wear off.

If it wasn’t for all the hacking on the old systems, I would literally have no reason to buy another COD game.

I disagree on that. MW2 has probably over twice the content of MW1. The only reason that MW1 is really popular is because it revolutionized the genre, but it doesn't have much to it. MW2 has sooooo many guns, streaks, attachments, calling cards, emblems, you can go for nukes, etc. If they just took out a couple of the bullshite mechanics (OMA, Deathstreaks), MW2 would probably be the most fun multiplayer FPS ever.
I really just want another CoD with some character. I think MW (2019) is a decent enough game. But it just feels like it lacks heart. Its IMO the most cookie cutter CoD that has come out.

I think what you're really missing is the enthusiasm that surrounded COD, and that will never be the same. Even as good as MW is, there will always be people moaning about the MW2 and BLOPS days, and those were truly great. But there was never any "character" to these games if you're taking about anything but the multiplayer. The campaigns, as fun as they were, still must cookie cutter action game set pieces. COD was always about the MP and the community that it engrossed, and those days are long gone.

I think they might put some of MW2 maps in this current game.
Once sales and hype dies down a bit...ohhh lookie here we got a free MW2 map pack.
Hell you can see the airport one is built into the new warzone.
That way you can charge full price for the game for those who don’t own it but want to play those maps.
Boom profit.

They already have Rust.
Playing that map reminded me I never really liked it other than playing 1v1 custom sniping matches with a friend.
