Whatever reason state leadership has for not publishing these daily when most other states are (of which I'm aware), it just makes it seem worse.

Maybe they've had issues simply compiling data and don't want to admit that.

Or another theory is that if they publish the numbers they are very low, well under capacity, and the politicians and media won’t be able to fear monger anybody into suffering for no reason. Florida keeps freaking out due to Miami while the rest of the state has very few cases for the most part and certainly well under 50% of hospital capacity. Most of our citizens got it from traveling elsewhere because we have a lot of 2nd homes and visitors.

Nola has Mardi Gras at potentially one of the worst times possible for it to occur due to this virus. That’s likely a major reason for Louisiana’s issues right now. Outside of some big city hot spots that have a lot of travelers, many places in the USA have very few cases compared to hospital capacity.

We have a little over 1000 "confirmed cases" state wide in AL and 299 in Jefferson County. I'll bet that at least a quarter of these "cases" are now recovered, but you never hear about that. Instead, the media just keeps adding to the number. Hell, I keep hearing stories of people who are essentially over it by the time they get their positive result back.
