Lee Zurik just reported Texas is testing 123 people for every 100,000 and La is testing 739 for every 100,000....
Good thing they closed the state line...
Good thing they closed the state line...

I'm sure mardi gras had nothing to do with it.

If you don't have symptoms, you aren't supposed to get tested.

Ok, now I’m wondering

Its not about keeping the virus out, its about keeping out a certain group from N.O.

Because people from Texas, Florida, and other states didn’t attend Mardi Grad in New Orleans and didn’t return to their states as index cases for their towns. Nope that didn’t happen.

A significantly smaller percentage of Texans went to Mardi Gras

They took the trash from the NO area several years ago... they are not wanting a repeat of that situation...

So you think the host city for Mardi Gras would be less susceptible to viral spread, than visitor states? Have you ever been to Mardi Gras?

Not only that but how many of the visitors brought it with them to Mardi Gras?

If the idea is that infected people traveled to New Orleans for Mardi Gras created this giant explosion of cases why wouldnt that logically extend to infected Texans traveling back to Texas?

Dilution rate? Spread out amongst a different, possibly larger population set OR more spread out given the social distancing...

Even if you do have symptoms you are told to stay at home and quarantine yourself and only come in if you develop extreme symptoms.

Simple. The Texans traveling back to Texas aren't still in New Orleans (a city that I love, but that I also know is run by, and majority populated by dumbasses).

Louisiana intuition: An infected person at Mardi Gras spreads the disease to a thousand partying Louisiana citizens around them. Those thousand newly infected each spread the disease to 2 other Louisiana people and the disease is off and running.
Texas intuition: an infected person at Mardi Gras spreads the disease to 50 partying Texan citizens around them. Those 50 newly infected each spread the disease to 2 other Texas people and the disease starts slowly creeping through the population.
I don’t know whether or not this story is an accurate reflection of why Louisiana numbers are disproportionately higher than Texas’s, but the logic surely can’t be as difficult to follow as y’all are trying to make it.

after whining, complaining, and belly aching for years about being second to texas... LA finally leads texas and now there's more whining, complaining, and belly aching from Louisiana boys?

Because they shut down SXSW in time to save their arse from importing CV-19 from around the planet. Austin dodged a bullet
