For Tuesday, employees at Whole Foods have planned a "sick out" over demands for better conditions including double pay because of the hazards of working during the pandemic.
do this and I bet the safety concern demands suddenly go away
they find themselves in a rare position of power and are using it.

uhh, yeah, that's exactly what they're saying. It's called hazard pay.

Shame on those employees, way too many restaurant workers got laid off in the last two weeks. I’m sure they will gladly replace the strikers and hope they do.

Why shame on them? They have every right to do this, and it’s actually not unreasonable due to the circumstances.
And if WF is in a position legally where they can replace the striking workers, then they should use that leverage as well. Back and forth negotiation powers between parties.
I bet they do increase pay. WF is often praised and adored by people who vote Left. If they bring in people to replace those who go on strike, that will turn them off to many leftist voters who don’t believe in Right to Work.

I'm just saying in most of the news reports and articles the workers are making it about safety equipment they're lacking. Its about money, which is fine but be honest about it.

WF and their employees deserve each other.

I s been shopping all local mom and pop grocers

I've been trying to support local places as well. These big national outlets will survive a 2 month shut down. The little poboy shop down the street won't.

I see both sides of it, but they’re also not making you work there either.

April1 lines as far as the eye can see of unemployed people applying for jobs.

If only there were other businesses where you could by food.

What does right to work have to do with WF employees striking?
Right to work laws say that you can’t be forced to join the union to go to work at a place. Some states like Louisiana have them, others don’t.

I'm at the first of the 3 WFM locations I'll see today. Business as usual here.

Imagine if the police and fire department were entitled little bitches too.

Screw them. I have been doing 95% of my shopping at Nunu's vs. a national chain since this started.

Selling baby back ribs for $9.99/lb should be able to pay someone.

They don't interact with the same amount of people as grocery workers do everyday. People working in grocery stores are probably more at risk than anyone else outside of a hospital.
Edit: I've been to 3 different WFM locations today. No noticable drop in workers today.
