That gives him 130 on the season and puts him on pace to strikeout 220 times this year, breaking his MLB record of 199

but he will still have 55 Hrs and 150 RBI.....
Posted on 7/13/08 at 12:50 am to geauxlsu07
it seems like everytime he makes contact he gets on base.. but he strikes out so damn much..

With a .230 batting average , an OBP of .320, and an OPS of around .800
Adam Dunnish numbers

dude is going to hit 55 hrs and have 150 rbi...you would take that on the Sox no matter the OPS

Didn't the old timers use to rag on anyone that struck out 100 times in a season? Wasn't it a huge disgrace to strike out 100 times, much less 200 in a single year?

But those old timers weren't hitting 50+ homers with 150+ rbis

But according to a MSB poster, rbis is an extremely overrated stat

well i do know that RBIs are a mis-used stat. more of a luck thing than anything else
and the 55 homers and those total bases are calculated in OPS, correct?

Roger Maris, Babe Ruth, Jimmie Foxx , Willie Mays, etc disagree

I think it is. If he hits 55 homeruns and gets 150+ rbi's, 95 times the guys in front of him got on base. He has no control over that whatsoever.

Luck? Maybe so, but its still a run being put on the board
