"Last ventilator was used up last night"

"We don't have any ventilators to put these patients on, so we're going to start to make life or death decisions when you walk in the door"

"You will be tagged - whether you are deemed necessary to even get on a ventilator. Or whether you are being sent home to die."

"There are NO masks. There are NO gowns. We are running out of gloves."

"People have panicked and are hoarding all of this stuff"

I sincerely hope AG Barr knocks on some HOARDERS doors today.

How does a machine get "used up"??

Ventilators aren't one time only devices. They get used over and over again for different patients after being disinfected, of course.

She seems like she doesn't know how ventilators operate or how they are used.

Fake news, maybe??

These patients are staying on vent for a long time, so the turnover is low.

I haven’t seen any gowns at the grocery store! She must be on to something!

She should ask her hospital administrators why they are short on supplies.

You’re listening to nurses posting on social media. Embarrassing.

When was the first case in Michigan? They haven’t had a chance to be on “for a long time.”

I can’t say for her specifically the context, but I did see a report that said patients being placed on vents are on them for weeks in some cases.

They have 10 ventilators in that hospital, and she put her patient on the last available ventilator.

Maybe watch the damn video if you are going to take pot shots at a front line ER nurse?

The shills are out fast and in numbers on this topic.

Now we have to figure out why.

You’re using a social media video as your source and the other people are the shills?

You're NOT paying attention to an ER nurse's front line experience.

Pathetic!

Do you seriously think this shortage falls on hospital administration?

So is the ventilator "used up" or just "used"? "Used up" still sounds wrong even if it means the hospital put its last available ventilator into use.

No. You quoted her correctly, right?

I'm not going to spend time watching a video just to see if you quoted the person correctly.

How do some of you get out of bed in the morning without hurting yourselves?

If you have 300 vents and 299 people on them and #300 comes in........ it’s used up.

Right now, at my hospital, if you code there is no attempt to resuscitate because we need the space and equipment. If it gets to that point you’re automatically labeled DNR.

Y’all can keep downplaying these stories but it’s very real in a lot of places.

You prefer your info in a national emergency to be scrubbed and vetted by MSM shills?

Why am I not surprised???

Michigan has been at this for a little longer than a week and they’re out of PPE? Did they not have more than a week’s supply?

Who should’ve been responsible?

I’m guessing you’re frightened. That’s a normal response to a crisis. Now move past that to thought.

And it’s being made up in a lot of places, too. Everyone wants to be a hero.
