That’s interesting and I’m not trying to be insulting here but I assumed he wasn’t very accurate because it just felt like he went from a little erratic to flat out ignorant and stupid instead of mood swings when he was off the meds but I don’t have familiarity with the disease in real life.

Haven't read the whole thread because I don't want to be spoiled, but watched S3 Episode 3 last night and now can't get Time For Me to Fly out of my head all day.

I think Navarro already has someone on the inside at the FBI and that's why Helen got knocked off.

In my experience with people that are Bi-Polar...they are a harm to themselves when they're down because of depression and shite. They are extremely a harm to themselves when they're up because they feel invincible.

That makes sense and I can see how he kinda fits that. I know a lot of folks don’t seem to appreciate Claire Danes as Carrie on Homeland but she feels more real to me than Ben- even when she’s all over the place I never questioned her intelligence. But like i said I really don’t have any first hand knowledge, I just grew to find Ben more annoying than saddening.

Maybe but it was also essentially a competition between Helen and Wendy/Marty. They proved their worth to him by willing offing Ben and again by ending the drug war Navarro was losing. Meanwhile Helen didn’t even get a chance to make her move. He knew the two sides were against each other (especially Helen) so one had to go

offing Ben

You know how sick that was? That's why the Byrde's are in my doghouse for a while.

Agreed, I really enjoyed the addition of Ben into the dynamic, especially with what it forced out of Wendy.

I did not see the ending coming... was expecting more of a cliffhanger, or that Wendy would be the one biting the bullet.

I just believe she will bite it in S4. One of the Byrde Sr's are going to have to go to the grave or the furnace.

I love the show but you have to suspend disbelief at times. If the FBI has a warrant for the casino, every damn one of their phones would have a wire tap. It was a good season and I would’ve never thought I’d be pulling for Darlene after the first two seasons.

Really good season.

I don’t remember having such a change in the way I viewed character like I did with Ben’s. I really didn’t like his addition in the first few episodes but by episode nine, he was the most sympathetic character on the show. I have some limited experience with people with bipolar disorder and the whole “I can fix it” mindset was so prevalent with both instances.

The opening of E9 is one the best scenes in the series. That actor deserves all the awards coming his way.

If feel the writing is exceptional in this series. The characters are all so deeply flawed. As the audience, we watch them speeding towards the brickwall but their character refuses to let them see it. You are supposed to hate Wendy’s character for the first 8 episodes because she is blindly destroying everything Marty has built but you still feel for her when it all comes crashing down at the end.

The mark of a good show is having consistent characters but not a predictable plot. This season really nailed that. I honestly had no idea what was going to happen when they get in the plane in E10.

Still didn't like her by the end. She is a sorry SOS. And I'll look forward to her demise in S4. She did arrange to have her brother killed so she could continue with her job. That's bad!

She had him killed so her family wouldn't get arrested or killed. It wasn't just so she could continue her job. They wrote him as a loose cannon toward the end, she had no choice.

Then the Byrde's need to die or Marty needs to open up a legitimate CPA business. What a stupid plot for a show. Continuing her job is a euphemism for continuing in the whole Ozark criminal enterprise man!

Just finished the season.

Not much to say that hasn’t already been said.

That was fricking AMAZING television.

RIP Ben...one of my favorite short run characters on any tv series ever.

I decided it is a silly plot actually. It no longer is my favorite Netflix show. Let me guess for S4? The Byrde's will fight with each other. The FBI will haplessly chase them. Some people will die. Darlene will be bad mean and Marty will always stay calm cause he likes his job. He no longer has to concern himself with laundering money to save his family cause the drug lord loves him. In the end it will all turn out well and Marty and Wendy will take the kids to Disney World.
