Is this the game where Horry goes off late in the 4th?

Don't think so. Duncan and Ginobli stretched the lead out in this one.

2005. Weird era in the NBA. Kobe was at his peak but LeBron was too young and MJ was gone. Spurs weren’t the most exciting team either.

I believe big shot bobs swan song was in game 5
Posted on 3/25/20 at 8:54 pm to Allthatfades
I think that was game 6 where Rasheed lost him on the perimeter then he hit the game winning 3.

I still wear my 2005 Spurs championship tshirt.

I guess so. It really was a weird time in the league. Lakers, Bulls and Celtics were bad.
I mean, Steve Nash won back to back MVP’s. Not saying he wasn’t awesome, which he was but it was still Steve Nash that won two mvp’s. Let that sink in.

Suns, Mavs, and Heat were fun to watch
That was a historically bad Hornets team that year. I remember games where our starting five were Dan Dickau, JR Smith, Bostjan Nachbar, Lee Nailon, and PJ Brown

Yes, 05 and 06 Nash back to back MVP years

I wouldn't neccesarily consider that series to be classic. The starless Pistons vs. the Spurs during their "boring offense" era wasn't really delivering big ratings.

Hey, I just provide the links. Take that up with the NBA

If I had to come up with a top five of hardest finals to enjoy watching in my lifetime, it would probably be:
Spurs/Pistons, 2005.
Spurs/Nets, 2003.
Spurs/Cavs, 2007.
Knicks/Rockets, 1994.
Lakers/Magic, 2009.

But for Malice at the Palace, would've been Spurs vs Pacers but not like it was something unforeseen with Artest's pattern of behavior to that point

Horry went off in Game 5 at the Palace. Had a monster dunk and hit the three to win. Huge game to give them the 3-2 lead.

92-93 Suns greatest of all time

Gave the 93 Bulls more fits than basketball historians admit, probably should've won game 6 and extended it to 7 but the Bulls made the true clutch plays down the stretch, MJ TRULY performed like Superman that series probably his greatest series performance of all-time and that's not an exaggeration when he averaged 41 ppg and the rest of the Bulls SUCKED games 5-6

Funny. I was watching Spurs-Knicks Game 5 the other day and the announcers mentioned that the Knicks took 11 threes in the entire series. Times have indeed changed.
