If so how long will that last?

Already do. Hope the options finally widen for me.

I think given choice I won't be just making decisions on price

I've been doing it for years. I'll pay more for American, it's made better anyway.

Already do, but will pay even closer attention the now. And hope when this dies down Trump makes it a campaign promise to bring as much back from the bat eaters as possible.

I am 100% for higher tariffs, and moving industry back to the USA.
We run an online boutique, and try to list products made in America whenever we can.
The first problem is finding textiles made here.
The second problem is getting customers to swallow the more expensive price.
Many of our customers message us asking where the products are made, and we put on ever product page if it is imported or made in the USA.
A lot of them say they want made in America, but when we look at the numbers, they only buy when it's Made in China's price. So we sell Chinese a lot. Most people won't put their money where their mouth is.

Harbor Freight backlash....

Will definitely make an effort to buy American when possible.

Yeah they want made in America with chins prices.
Tariff war needs to continue

I would say my ball park would be 70% of our customers would buy American if it were the same price, but just don't want their noses rubbed in the fact that their item is made in china, and 30% wouldn't care either way.
The problem isn't that Made in USA is 5% more expensive. It's 25% more expensive, and very few people pay that.
We even did a whole advertising campaign over bringing our big popular product back to the USA. No one cared enough to buy at the higher price.

Seems like everything is treated disposable

I'd like to see a store, say Target or WalMart, arrange their display of goods like this - American made products on aisles 1-8 and foreign made products on aisles 9-15.
Many customers will not take the individual time to look at each item to see where it is made but with designated aisles of Am. made products, it would be interesting to see just how much of those items would actually sell taking into account the prices might be higher.

I always have.
A good majority of the time you can't do anything about it. What % of our electronics are made there? Car parts? You can't avoid it.
For you boys that like your yeti coolers? Do some research on it. They don't make em all here. A lot of gray area with yeti..all of their soft coolers, steins, accessories etc are 100% made in China.
Their hard coolers...some of them are ASSEMBLED in the USA. But the parts are coming from China im pretty sure. One silver lining...if you want a hard cooler that is 100% assembled in the USA you can call and request it and they will make sure you are taken care of.
Past couple of years I've gotten into Kayak/kayak fishing long story short Jackson, Tennessee makes Jackson kayaks (I bought one). They also manufacture and assemble Orion coolers...100% made in USA and work as good or better than YETI. A hair more expensive...but I am going to buy one because I like it and more importantly made here on our soil.
I hope these companies that source all of their shite out to China take notice. Your avg every day American doesn't like that crap.
