the real question is how do we get kids back into schools after they spent months not being in school and smoking weed every day?

Nah. Most of the last two months are preparing for testing. They’ve done most of the learning already.

A lot of private schools are still doing class online via the Teams app

If you think that's what I do and it helps you sleep better at night, then keep on thinking that.

You look pretty foolish trying to score points with your internet friends.

How about cut the fluff next year and focus on the core... English/writing and reading comprehension/Math and science.

We don't need music and PE and a bunch of non essential crap taking up half the week.

Sounds like your arse got a free pass all the way through if you think the time attended is a quarter.

But what if they don’t fail? What if some of them come out better with individualized learning?

So basically all the kids are getting free passes to the next grade, well a lot of them will struggle because they've only received a quarter of the lessons this year.

Right?
.

Speaking of missing lessons, where were you when they went over fractions?

I taught in Baton Rouge and Gonzales and there’s definitely no distance learning happening. My 5th graders didn’t have textbooks or workbooks so I can imagine home computers are also out.

You're right, they had half a year of school. I missed fractions day because I had to plow the fields that day.
