He's a businessman. He owns hotels.

So why is he initiating policies that is clobbering his industry?

Maybe because CDC and the like ran some data into some fancy arse models that spit out a very frightening range of potential infections and death.

The administration is putting policies in place to put us on the bottom end of the range.

Trump, Pence, Carson, the doctors on the stage, the professionals in these agencies, I for one trust them. I never thought I'd say that about any politician, but they are living and breathing this Corona thing 247. They are seeing something that truly has the potential to harm ALL OF US, regardless of race, color, or Creed.

So really everyone, prayers for all and godspeed to those on the Frontline.

They're late to the party and that's the problem. An economy had to be protected, until it couldn't. And then math happens.

So the person whose primary full time job is a federally elected position which he earned as the result of a multi-year political campaign isn’t a politician? If not him, then who is?

They are equally as worried about getting poor people some money quickly because a lot of people are on the verge of 1) losing their jobs and 2) running out of money. As soon as people no longer have money for essentials, the looting and rioting begins. Not a good situation.

Trump is not a politician, which is precisely he won the election in 2016.

Allow me to clarify, he's not a prototypical politician. I think that's quite evident.

Trumps pushing for hotel bailouts to help out his businesses. Plus Mnuchin wants 500 bill in a secret slush fund for corporations. Unbelievable

Unbelievable is tanking our economy because we can’t trust people to follow the same rules we do when we have a fever and because we need to avoid grandmas for a while.

Do you think Trump owns the only hotels on the planet? Do you know what business directly benefits from domestic and international travel? The idea that we should completely exclude the hotel industry from any help from the fed because Trump owns hotels is absurd. Would we exclude the cattle industry because Trump Steaks was once a thing?

I'm imaginings inner city neighborhoods with multigenerational families under the same roof, and one- maybe two- individuals in a household of 7 or 8 actually holding gainful employment...

And a bunch of free gubment checks bout to go out...

I'd say it's finna be lit on the south si-yeeeeeeed.

Every action he takes he has an eye on how it helps or hurts his re-election. That’s standard politician behavior. He’s unconventional in how he goes about it, no doubt, but the same thing motivates him as every other politician: re-election.
