And TE is a position that has a longer shelf life. Old guys do fine there

I’m sure Gronk wished that were so and so does Jimmy Graham. Not every TE is as durable as Ben Watson and Tony Gonzalez, as evidenced by Olsen’s putrid injury history over the last few years

as long as our first two picks are a LB, WR or OL,

Should be a good WR to choose from for the first pick. The only reason them not picking a WR first is there is a LB or OL that falls to us but I’m looking for a WR2

I don’t think that’s the case. I think they just a guy that can be an upgrade over Jenkins and tried to take advantage

That's what what they were probably thinking. I just looked at Janoris Jenkins' contract & his dead money hit is literally $0.00

They could've cut him for nothing, & signed Harris as his replacement.

At this point...the best option for #2 CB is looking like restructuring Janoris' contract, & bringing that 11.25 mil cap # down.

We can probably expect this to happen soon, unless a better CB becomes available.

That is a very good point. I’m kind of thinking that Janoris Jenkins is not wanting to restructure and basically calling for the saints to either cut him or pay him. I feel like they would have already restructured him if he was open to it. Which would make sense on why they would go after harris. Additionally, the saints are probably trying not to extend Jenkins with him being a 31 year old corner. He will digress soon and we have players to sign next year.

If we decide to keep him we could always add a few dummy years and convert a portion of his base salary into a signing bonus that spreads over those years.

No player in their right mind is going to say no to having the money now vs. waiting for it, especially when it's not currently guaranteed.

My guess is they were still waiting for other things to unfold first, and J Jenkins was the fallback option.

Massive deal. Will help with busts and breakdowns on the back end (massive issue).

Example- playoff game, Prob ended up on Thielen with the season on the line. Would never have happened with MJ back there. Should be a massive upgrade with communication and in the pass defense overall.

CGJ, Marcus, and Malcolm--- lots of teams would do unspeakable things to have 3 safeties like these. Good move
