NOLA Link
Takeaways -
1) He was perfectly healthy
2) He thought it was the flu
3) He’s in ICU taking paralytic medications so his lungs can rest
4) Docs think it’s been circulating here longer than we think
5) I bet it was circulating during Mardi Gras. Crowds.
-
He and I have mutual friends, although I don’t know him.
This is a total gut check. And it took this for me to realize. The social distancing doesn’t prevent us from getting sick. It prevents the spread.
POTUS did the right thing in shutting down travel.
JBE did the right thing by shutting down schools
Lock it down Baws. We gotta flatten the curve.
Prayers to you Mark Frilot. And your family. You got this. It don’t got you.
ETA- removed reference to weather bc not certain its relationship. Either way. Please just take a little break from parties people. We’ll bounce back fine in 30 days. And pray for the Frilot Family. This is awful.

How do you know this?

Read it in various articles. They theorize that warm weather will help things.
I Don’t have a link. But seriously. This poor guy is dealing with this and that’s what you get out of it?

Are you sure? That's somewhat of a rarity, in my experience, him being an attorney and all....

30 pounds overweight =/ perfectly healthy
Virus affects breathing ability. Much harder to breath if you never workout your lungs (aka exercise)
I hope at the end of this, people decide to start taking care of themselves and quit making bullshite excuses to avoiding exercise such as having kids or not enough time. Everyone can fit in 30-45 minutes of aerobic exercise most days of the week

His wife said he was “never” sick in the article.
It’s not as if he had some kind of underlying pulmonary condition.
This sucks for him and his family. It’s not really funny.

1/2 or more of the population fit this profile

All these downvotes because an article doesn’t toe the party line

Not sure if this is perfectly healthy

I’d be willing to bet he has high blood pressure. Those patients have not been doing well and he fits the profile

This certainly is an exceptional case.

Then I will remove. I’m not sure either way. Just trying to spread a little awareness of the importance of flattening out the curve, by taking a few wks off of going to concerts and sporting events.

Not being a dick, but i saw his picture, he may have been “healthy” but he Is over weight and not by a small margin. What toll does that take on the lungs is not in my wheelhouse.

No, it's not funny per se, but levity can help. I was honestly curious as to precise as possible health status. That's the most important underlying factor. "Perfectly healthy" would work to instill a tad more concern for a near 45 year old attorney who is NOT in perfect health, much like myself. Unfortunately.

The downvotes are mainly because there is 10+ page thread on this on the OT and secondly obese does not equal being perfectly healthy

Looks like Jared from Subway with a poor mans Jessica simpson
