You are uninformed and ignorant. The families who have lost loved ones do think it is serious. These numbers will far surpass the flu/ H1N1. If you can't show sympathy and caution for this, then I guess you also think Katrina and the recent tornadoes in TN were really jokes. Hospitals/ resources are not numerous enough to take care of the elderly alone who will be affected. The "weak" virus that doesn't kill kids or young adults, will be devastating to a lot of elderly and will last much longer than the flu.
PS: I am extremely conservative and dislike millenials. I am also an infectious specialist and have never seen anything like this.

The world is trying to stop a pandemic which is something important. I hate having our world stopped, but Covid 19 is a bad bug. Hopedully it will subside.

Yep, our media is influencing the world, slick attempt at making this political....in the states, One week ago, 500 cases, 20 deaths....today, 3000+ cases, 60-70 deaths......are some people overactive, sure, always will be.... But wait til your momma or grandmomma or grandkid get it and die(you obviously only care if it directly affects you) then check back in and tell us how overreactive everyone is.....just 2...maybe 3 weeks ago our president said it was 15 cases and would be ZERO soon, how'd that work out?.... This isn't little, by any stretch, and it sure as hell isn't political, unless your a moron....that had to sting

What is there to explain? Its fricking simple. The over reaction has basically killed the fricking economy, welcome to the depression v2.0... the stock market will be locked down and eventually all the trading will come to a stand still. Liquidation of the non-performing liabilities will happen after that. Now what or who is the non-performing liabilities?
There really isn't much to explain, how do you think commerce works?
I hate to tell you fools but you're not getting food on the table forever by sitting in your freaking house.
Expect stock market to be shutdown for a holiday pretty soon, maybe within the week than bank holiday... when the banks close they don't reopen.
Oil is going to $10, you guys living off that crap in La. are about to get a wake up call from hell.

Good lord. I can't imagine being that one-track minded. Everything is about the fricking economy to you. I know how commerce works. You should try and obtain a baseline knowledge of how disease works.

Circuit breakers already hit this morning on stocks, limit down. Get use to it. Let me know how those grocery stores hold up when there is no resupply. You save this type of action when there is a real emergency like 5%+ of the general population.
And you never stated what I don't understand about "how disease works". There are all kinds of diseases.... if everyone lives on their own island than the chances of spreading diseases (human to human) goes down greatly.... so what? Modern civilization doesn't work by everyone sitting at home. Once Fall/Winter come around, it will all be coming back.
