Pretty much spot on, and I believe what they did in South Korea plus anti-malaria for the most vulnerable if they are strong enough.

LINK /

You don't freaking shutdown the whole global commerce over this, but probably too late now... you done fricked up the economic system over this stupid reaction.

So that the infection continues to multiply?
There would be no end to the quarantine of the vulnerable population. AND, as we know front he first death in La. those outside the "vulnerable" age can die from this stuff.
I think I am going to stick with the advice of the public health professionals instead of you yahoos.

Yet, in South Korea they are basically through it. What is going on is lots more people have it, but show no signs of having it. So, there many more cases than what is reported but very few deaths.

South Korea isolated the most vulnerable and gave them anti-malaria drugs, unless they were already in a weakened state.

LINK

It has nothing to do with health professionals, as you don't shut down the fricking world over a sickness like this... common sense comes to mind. Now, the stupid people have turned a bad situation into an economic disaster, bravo.

South Korea already solved the issue, easily and without shutting down the freaking economic... duhhhhh.

Everyone just sit at home, wait for the food to run out... starved to death... problem solved, no more virus.

LINK /

Basically, people are getting it and their not even in the numbers because they don't even show signs of it.

Well, that's essentially what South Korea did and it worked out for them.

No they didn't they shut a few things down, separate the vulnerable and gave they anti-malaria drugs. What is going on is more people are getting it, but they have no idea... those people are not included in the numbers i.e. basically flu stats or slightly above.

If you're old or sick, or have some condition.. isolate... everyone else, enjoy life.

LINK /

Literally blew up the whole economic system over fricking nothing. The fricking flu is going to kill more than this.... easily this year. LOL

A good portion of the people that are getting it, including kids have no freaking idea they even have/had it. LOL Looks like the old and vulnerable can be given anti-malaria medicine and the death rate plunges even more.

Pretty simple really, the old and vulnerable... the rate of death is probably higher than the flu, but if anti-malaria or Hiv drugs are given... chances of death plunge even further.

LINK /

Its basically the very old and already with a per-existing condition, and this doesn't account for people that get it and have no way of knowing they have it because they have no symptoms.

Literally one of the biggest frauds in history.

The data is there, big nothing burger and you can downvote all you like. LOL Don't worry the S&P500 is showing 10% down as I write this, I hope you doubling down on stupid is worth it.

Yeah, because Math. LOL

Literally, multiple times as many people will die from the flu this year. Only a fricking nutbag would destroy the economy over the flu.

Don't worry though oil is now a 2 handle. LOL Goodbye jobs there in La.

If you throw out math, of course the nutjobs are right.

Yeah, I think some people are more concerned about outcomes for humans than for companies, based on the silly notion that this is not only morally right but, in the long run, economically sound. Perhaps your math skills are greater than theirs.

Its not about companies, its about the economy i.e. commerce.. how do you think you are in this conversation... magic? Commerce.

Basically, they are destroying the credit/debt system over a disease that can effectively be cured or minimized with anti-malaria medicine from which probably half the people don't even know they even have... in which the death rate is probably similar to the flu, and effectively below the flu when given proper medicine to the vulnerable.

Maybe your understanding of how economics work is not that great - how do you think those hospital work? Off of skittles?

You don't shutdown the world because someone has a cold, which is basically what this is... to the general population, of course, isolation of the elderly and sick does make sense... as this will hit them harder than the rest of the population. For much of the population i.e. young... they'll probably never even know they have it.

Worse yet, none of this is the cure... and will be back in the fall/winter.

This is a big nothing burger that people turned into a disaster.... depression on deck now... bravo.

This ain't no cold. A case of the sniffles or common rhinovirus doesn't incite renal or cardiac failure.

This thing does. Lancet Study
"Patients eventually die of multiple organ failure, shock, acute respiratory distress syndrome, heart failure, arrhythmias, and renal failure."

The comorbidities (especially prevalent in older populations, but present-and-unknown in normal populace) are what is driving this thing. The mortality rate when comorbidities are present apparently shockingly high, which is what makes it so dangerous - it's not that it hits everyone...it's that (a) it can easily go and live anywhere and (b) when it hits, it hits.

Stick that with LA culture - families getting together and a population with morbidity markers EVERYWHERE - and the stats bear out a serious public health challenge.

I get you're mad. Not sure that does anything. Good luck.

Its basically the flu, I have already posted numbers from South Korea. The virus attacks the elderly and the people with pre-existing condition. The young basically have no idea they even have it. Matter of fact, they have reduced the death rate of the elderly by simply giving them anti-malaria medicine, or appears this way. They have already told everyone how to beat this without shutdown the whole fricking economy.

Literally, as far as the general population the numbers are basically nothing... the elderly should be isolation and most probably given anti-malaria/hiv treatments and the morality rate is really no different than the flu.

You don't destroy civilization because of the flu. The flu causes death as well, no real difference there.

Unlike the flu, many of the people that get this will have no idea they even have it. The death rate appears higher in the elderly range than the flue but appears to be less based on South Korean numbers if they are given proper medical attention.... no reason for the world to stop spinning.

Thanks...? Still not sure what you mean. Even if I'm clueless about lots (but not all things COVID), not sure I formed a party, and I surely wouldn't be chairman.

FFS I haven't posted in months, and maybe a handful of times over the past couple of years, but ok. Unless we know each other somehow, then fine.

Either way: the comorbidity rate of COVID is exceptionally high - it's not a cold, and it's not the common flu.

That's a huge unknown as many of the people that have this disease will never know as they will not have symptoms.

This is a big nothing burger, heck I would rather get this than the flu. Now if it was 65+ I would probably rather the flu. (at least based on the numbers we have so far)

Either way the general population is mostly not at risk in, any more than anything else that I can see... I mean the numbers are the numbers.

Now if I was 85 years old and was on oxygen, I would probably be boarded up in my house... the general population is not really at risk.
