Im just going to be frank with you. The hospitals in the area are over run. We don’t have the staff to care for what we have now much less when this is 4 x or 10x worse. We don’t have the proper equipment for protection and will eventually run out of ventilators. Asking people to stay home and be “bored” for 4 weeks is the least you can do.

Yeah, but what do you do when it comes back? And there is no supplies that come in, you think this is going to be solved in 4 weeks? LOL Life does not stop because people are at home, that is not how the economy works, you just don't turn it on and off like a switch. So, you save this for the dooms day type situation.

Stock market will have to be shut down next, than the banks, than how do propose everything works? Let me see all those people in Baton Rouge are going to grow crops in their front yard?

The hospital runs off a credit/debt system, close the credit/debt system... hospital disappears. You don't shut down the freaking world because people get sick and some die, that's life... this will make things very bad. Basically, the nutjobs pop the bubble with a hand grenade.

How do you think people get food and how do you think the hospital gets supplies?

Wow so you aren’t even trying to understand what’s going on? It has to be done. It could have been done differently. We could have been prepared. Maybe we could have really used some kind of Pandemic Response team to handle everything but it’s almost like our president gutted it and fired everyone because if “saved money”. Tell me how it’s ok and not his fault and how he’s a genius. I’ll hang up and listen.

Trying to understand. WTH are talking about?

They could have shut the borders, but that is what all these nutjobs want is open borders anyway.

As far as shutting stuff down now... are you going to shut everything down in the country next Fall/Winter?

Food doesn't get to Walmart through magic.

Yes, you are. You picked a depression not a recession, the whole fricking system is going to blow up now.

You're a nutjob. You don't understand even basic math, this doesn't work off of magic.

Let me you think food gets to Walmart via voodoo.

As blindely obedient as people are, I have a feeling we will see far more States of emergencies in the future. It's absolutely working as a way to control citizens.

The way they set this up, those idiots are going to have to have food brought into them... but this isn't hurricane Katrina. Exactly where do they think help is coming from?

They're lunatics.

We'll just shut the whole economy down, and than just turn it on when we want. LOL

Most of these people have no freaking understanding of the credit/debt market, which is why the Fed set rates to zero and it has no effect. The economy isn't coming back on.

I'm going to go... the nutjobs brought this on themselves, the stock market will have to go on a holiday, mass bankruptcies, mass layoffs, etc. Better pray the banks don't go on holiday.... I hope it was worth it because my grand parents were reduced to eating blood soup during the last pop.

If you don't know this, you are way behind the curve.

BTW, Phillipines just shutdown their markets indefinitely. LOL You guys better wakeup and smell the coffee... monster.

The scariest part of this thread is not the fact we have an almost unprecedented virus threatening the world.

Its rather the amazingly large number of conspiracy theorists that think this virus is the work of the left or the right and/or that extreme measures to stop the spread of the virus are not needed that scares me.

My dad went to war for four years to stop the germans from taking over the world. I can miss some baseball games and not go to bars for a few months. Perspective matters.

You'll change you mind if you can't access your bank account.... or the food stops coming.

Its not about going to bars and restaurants, you can't just shut down the economy down, the credit/debt markets don't have a switch... they break.

I've never seen anyone claim any of this is the work of "the right". Plenty of people still amazingly going forward with the notion that the reaction and precautions being taken is being cooked up by "the left" to make Trump look bad. Some people in this thread are dangerously ignorant or just full blown idiots.

I buried my money under my backyard vegetable garden years ago. So I'm good.

If it comes to that your buried money isn't worth anything, its a promise to pay nothing. Federal Reserve Notes are not really worth anything in a broken Federal reserve system.

Like most of the rest of the posters on this site, I buried gold AND food.
For the self evident reason that the credit/debt markets don't have switch, and so forth...
The End is upon us.

That might help you (for a while), but its not going to help the masses. There is a good likely this destroys the credit/debt system.

I have no idea why anyone would think this is a good idea - which serves little purpose, the virus will be back when the weather gets cold in the Fall.
