You would be too stupid to recognize the difference

The difference is Mainieri hires ex players as his primary assistants.

O is hiring them as analysts, which means they do as much or as little as O wants. It would be equivalent if O was hiring Bennie Logan as defensive coordinator

as analysts has a very Mainieri feel to it. I shouldn’t second guess O but damn that’s a lot of former players getting important jobs. Are they qualified?

Chin up. Damoione Lewis was also hired. He's from Miami. So feel better about your arbitrary qualifications rant.

There is a difference in hiring coaches and analysts.

Especially when you only have 2 paid assistants in baseball

LSU football had upwards of 30 on-field coaches + analysts + personnel guys

None of these guys will be coaching players so this thread makes no fricking sense but I can already see now when we lose our first game it will be “O has too many unqualified analysts on staff!!!”

I think it is good for recruiting. Aside from that who knows? They will be judged as all coaches are by production and wins.

Would you be against Burrow getting hired as an LSU analyst after his 15 year hall of fame NFL career?

How dare you ask a question like this on a message board.
Every successful program only hires its own ex-players.

You do realize that Sheppard is a director of player development and not a coach or analyst right?
