Bengals should keep Burrow and Jefferson together

Bengals have the first pick of the second round. Jefferson won't make it out of the first round after his forty today. May be worth their while to trade up a little to grab him and keep the Burrow-Jefferson magic alive.

The Bengals have other issues to fix to protect Burrow. I don't think they can afford to throw assets away to move up, just to "keep them together."

Yeah, if Jefferson is there for their second pick and they select Burrow first, they should and will take JJ.
They have some value players they can trade to fill their more direct needs.

No. The saints need to draft him at the end of the 1st.

I hope the Bengals go sll in on OL.
Protect Joe and then build from there.

Depends on how many spots they'd need to trade up as far as how much they'd have to give up. As a hypothetical, to move up from 33 to 22, would probably cost them a 3rd round pick next year.
But with this draft class being so deep with WRs, Jefferson may go in 25 to 30 range, so it wouldn't take as much for them to trade up to get him.

What if the Bengals are sitting there with the 33rd pick, having already drafted Joe Burrow first overall and they see one of their top ranked players slip down in the draft. Maybe it is even a wide receiver to pair with their quarterback. It could definitely happen.
In order to move up into the low-20s they would likely have to give up a third-round pick next year.

Burrow said earlier in the season that they knew each other so well, he knew when the receivers were going to break, which direction and at what speed before they did it.
Might not be a bad idea to carry that relationship over to a pro team.

Bengals mostly need a guard. Might be able to grab one in the 3rd. Possibly a RT

Unfortunately, slot receiver is about the only position on the field that the bengals actually have locked down. JJ is certainly capable of playing outside, but it’s not worth the 33rd overall pick to play JJ out of position. I’m a bengals fan myself and as much as I’d love to bring in Jefferson with burrow, it just doesn’t make any sense

Bengals need to sign 2 top FA OLmen during free agency to sure up there OL.
I like the idea if they do this to get Jefferson.

Damn that throw never gets old in that gif. Just a perfect picture of Burrow's entire season. Eyes always down the field, escaping pressure, making a clutch throw accurate and usually a long ball...

JJ will be long gone but the good news is the Bengals will likely be in good position to get Chase next year

Just like LSU should have sought out his high school receivers?

If they do this, they can get Chase #1 next year

Such a homer thing to say. You have no idea the problems that team has. They aren't going to do this just to "keep them together".

Chase wouldn’t be available at pick #32 if you get my drift
