Cool then maybe EBR should direct it’s police and fire not to respond to anything in St. George while St. George is trying to set up their government.

You mean like the parish sherif? Because currently BRPD doesn’t respond in SG

Exactly one, which will act as a liaison between EBR Sheriff, BRPD, fire departments, etc.

St George could have a municipal fire department. This means that the City of St George Council would control their fire department. Then BRFD would start having to provide service and build fire stations to keep a class 1 fire rating.

St. George already has their own fire district, St. George and BRFD wont change the way they are ran, same as Eastside and District Six, all are inside Baton Rouge area but all are their own separate departments. There has been talks of building another station for BRFD for years but who knows when it will happen. The only difference St. George makes to the BRFD is funding, which if these businesses continue to annex even that wont be as large of a hit as BRFD was expecting.

First, when is qualifying for the new mayor/president of EBR?

Second, there is no reason why St. George should make anything easy on the Parish government after the way they’ve been treated. Tell those assholes they are stuck with all the retirement debt they dug themselves into. It doesn’t matter if you bankrupt them. That’s their decision if they aren’t financially sound.

Third, once the government is set up in St. George, find a way to screw over any businesses Lipsey has in the city. Refuse to do any business with Lipsey. Oh yeah, don’t let St. George fire respond to any calls, and don’t let st. George police respond to any call to his properties. Sleep in the bed you made.

Why I agree that this has been bull shite, you need to relax. Not let St George Fire respond to any calls? Ok tough guy. Let's just forget our people. I do agree with an F U to Lipsey, though. This entire law suit is an abuse of power and completely illegal. In before gerry mandering folks show up. Probably too late.

There isn’t a realistic challenger that is going to run. A re-election is almost a certainty at this point

How many BR mayors in the past 60 years have been voted out vs termed out or retired on their own?

Kip termed out. Bobby Simpson got defeated. I believe Tom Ed McHugh, Pat Screen, and Woody Dumas all termed out. I’m hazy on who was even around before Woody.

This will happen much faster once we vote out our joke of a Mayor

I just don't know if it will happen. The outskirt areas of BR need to band together on this and there needs to be a viable candidate; otherwise, it'll be more of the same.

It should be soon, but SG is just one issue. The parish is headed the wrong way, and we need new and better leadership. Broome is in over her head and all she really pushes for is development of NBR. Meanwhile we are losing population, jobs and overall progress has slowed down.

Broome isn't doing SG any favors. The C-P Council is doing nothing. But what's new? They can't agree on much of anything important. They argue for months over a tear shredder. Race factors in all decisions.
The sad part is SG needs a functional parish. Hoping for EBR, BR or any part of our region to suffer is crazy talk.

Lipsey is just grandstanding. If he wanted his firearm business in BR then why did he locate it off of Siegen. Why didn't he stay in BR? Lipsey should get served like everyone else. I don't want SG or any other govt. picking and choosing whom they serve. That too is crazy talk.

Add in a sprinkle of racism and this perfectly encapsulates St. George.
