quote:They only hire a "wealth defense industry" when the cost of said "wealth defense industry" is less than the savings provided.
For instance, multimillionaires and billionaires support an entire "wealth defense industry" of professionals — tax lawyers, accountants, wealth managers — that help hide their fortunes in offshore tax havens and dynasty trusts.
quote:There's zero connection here. The fact there are billionaires does NOT restrict anyone else from acquiring $400. On the contrary, a Billionaire is more likely to throw $400 down for a moments entertainment...or to encourage a pest, like the authors, to go away.
While billionaire fortunes balloon, about a fifth of Americans have zero or negative net worth. And nearly two-fifths of us don't have the cash on hand to cover a $400 emergency, according to the Federal Reserve.
quote:Outright lie. Billionaires spend a lot of money on food, clothing, shelter, entertainment...all kinds of things. Gates and Bezos kinda compete for the most AI automated home.
Part of the reason is that many billionaires invest their fortunes in a way that only expands their own wealth and power

I'd never vote for Bernie in a million years. But defending billionaires is pretty damn tough.
