Fort Worth Highlights

Heading to Fort Worth in May for a bachelor party. What are the standout bars and restaurants? Looking for a good steak spot, good cocktails, and bourbon focused bar. Also, always open for solid lunch/dinner options, or other things to do in general besides a Rangers game. TIA!

I've heard good things about Acre Distilling and Reata.

Ruth Chris has a tremendous happy hour on weekdays and it’s located right next to the Hilton.
Food and drinks.
For example, a fillet mignon sandwich with béarnaise sauce and french fries is nine dollars.

They also have over 100 bourbons. Barrel & Bones is a good bourbon bar, Acre distillery and Whiskey and Rye in the Omni hotel.

Reata, Bonnell's and Clay Pigeon are all local steak spots and have a good selection of other game. Can't go wrong with any of the three.
Woodshed is a great place to hang for the afternoon with BBQ, tons of beers on tap, live music sometimes etc.
Not sure how rowdy of a bachelor party you're looking to have but plenty of bars on west 7th to have fun at. Thompson's is a cool speakeasy place with great cocktails.

Cool distillery^. The tour is very cool and comes with samples.

Based on your criteria, my suggestions:
Steak:
Lonesome Dove
Del Friscos (also has a good bourbon program)
Bourbon Focused Bar:
Thompsons
The Usual
Amber Room
Cocktails:
Thompsons
Amber Room
Clay Pigeon
Grace
Proper
Lunch/Dinner:
Heim BBQ (2 locations)
Fred's (Currie location--very laid back, FW legend)
Del Frisco's Grille
Rogers Roundhouse
Wishbone and Flynt (Amber Room is inside of W&F)
Bearded Lady
Ellerbe (a tad more upscale)
Clay Pigeon (dinner only)
As mentioned above, West 7th area at night will be a good place to bar hop and fulfill your bachelor party needs (bonus if TCU is still in session). Magnolia and South Main areas are good spots to walk some cool restaurants and bars.
Have fun--Fort Worth is a great city.

In the “other things to do” category—The Stockyards can be cool. They do rodeos Friday and saturday nights and their are lots of eat/drink options including lonesome dove Steakhouse, White Elephant Saloon, and of course Billy Bob’s Dance Hall.

Good call. Lonesome Dove is down there and a lot of the bars are walking distance from there to fulfill bachelor party requirements.

Seriously?
OP don't go here.
Lonesome Dove is an incredible dinner. Reata is up there as well.

Go to the Stockyard area, have dinner at the Lonesome Dove then party at Billy Bob's.

The stockyards are cool, so is the FW downtown...specially on weekend days.
If you have a car you can go about 20 min to the new Texas Live venue (multi club/stages)
Black Eye Destillery and TX Whiskey are both there (FW) as well.

Exactly. Why would you visit a city and go to RC when there are so many local options.

Yes, in terms of value or bang for your buck, it's hard to beat their happy hour specials.
Sure, it's not a local, but that doesn't disqualify it from being considered, especially when you factor in the quality, consistency, and service vs. price.

I reside in FTW, dine out alot and would concur with most of Panny Crickets’ suggestions. Also a new very nice sports bar where Waters used to be in 7th St corridor...cant think of name. Id say Del Friscos or Lonesome Dove easily both the top steakhouses, Fredburger w/ cheese is a must for lunch. Rodeo Goat also good for burgers, but cant top Fred’s. Heim is def good for bbq, but I think Campo is better, however they are still a foodtruck with outdoor tables...Im not a Grace fan at all and Clay Pigeon is good quality, but limited menu and small portions imho. Ive been to all these places many times. Although, I have not been to Proper that I recall. Not a huge fan of The Usual either...always seems too boring in there with odd vibe and its a bit of a haul from my homebase. Oh and definitely Velvet Taco for late night post bar hopping grub. Nothing else decent is open late which is one thing that bugs me.. Oh and whoever said Ruth’s Chris is better than Dels or Lonesome Dove in any category must have been pulling your leg. No comparison.

Concrete Cowboy. The layout and service is impressive. I've popped in for a beer, but I'm a little old for their demographic.
Bonus: It's across the street from Fred's.
Speaking of Fred's, there's a patty melt and cold schooner on my agenda today or tomorrow.

At some point you need to go to the Magnolia Motor Lounge. Cool little spot with great live music and the owner is a good dude.

I'm not saying it's not good. But there are thousands of places to go in big cities without going to a chain steakhouse.
