I don't know - I was at every home game last year and the year before. The fans definitely can get loud as frick. ULL two years ago, Vandy SEC regular season clincher last year, numerous others where I would literally get chills. Perhaps the countless blown leads or momentum-killing runs/plays by the opposing team neuter what could be a raucous crowd.

I was expecting this game to be somewhere near the tennessee game last year...wildest basketball game i’ve ever been too...but it was nowhere near that

Had the game be played on a Friday or Saturday night like these other sports you mention I would bet my left testicle on a pretty rowdy crowd. 8 pm on a Tuesday night... not so much

EDW

I was at a EDW playoff game. Standing room only. They opened the cafeteria for people to watch, who couldn't get in. I sat on, I think what was a stage, with bleachers set up. It wasn't 30% as loud as the PMac. You are out of your mind if you think 1,000 people in a gym is louder than 13,000 at the PMac.

The demographics of LSU’s student body just don’t equate to a passionate basketball fanbase. What’s different about it now than the dale days? I have no idea
"Selective Admissions" have changed the demographics of the average LSU student.

When it was "Open" anybody could get in and many attended for a few semesters on mommy and daddy's dime just to party before flunking out.

Now there are "Academic Standards with minimum GPA's and Test Scores" to get in.

Many of these "Smarter" students don't care about Sports as much. Fact...…..

Honestly I don't think our fans really care enough to take notice on how things are on the court. We could go undefeated in the league, but if the average fan doesn't see that single digit number next to LSU's name on social media, ESPN, etc I don't think they really care.

Well youngster, i'm 63, which I guess qualifies me as 'old people', and I yell my arse off.

It isn't a certain age group; it's the whole arena. I look at the student section and half of the students are looking at their phones most of the game, and that's only when they rarely show up.

It's the lackadaisical effort and undisciplined team and an uninspired coach that causes most of the crowd apathy.

Lets not act like LSU is MIT. There are many much better schools that can get fired up for basketball.
