For you guys that think football started in 2000, here's your OC as a player, with some Hokie Gajan, Charles Alexander and David Woodley mixed in.

Now who don't believe Coach E is coaching and teaching these LSU QB's how to look off defenders? Great find Bowtie!

Regarding the Maryland link: "LSU, in 1952, introduced a unique - and short-lived - jersey numbering system. The idea of coach Gaynell "Gus" Tinsley and publicity director Jim Corbett, the system utilized an abbreviation of the player's position on his jersey. Thus, ends, guards and tackles wore the letters "E", "G" and "T" fol- lowed by a single-digit number. The right side of the line wore even numbers, the left side odd num- bers. In similar fashion the centers, quarterbacks, left halfbacks, right halfbacks and fullbacks wore"C", "Q", "L", "R" and "F", respectively, followed by single-digit numerals. The 1953 LSU yearbook, the Gumbo, boldly predicted that the new system "may revolutionize the football jersey manufacturing industry." It didn't."

I know those are basically highlights but Coach E looked damn impressive.

He was pretty mobile on top of being able to sling it.

Football started in 2000 for me lol. shite I was 14 and only cared about the Saints before that. But yes I've rooted for LSU for the last 20 years.

I'm pretty sure that the Fla. State game in the first link is the very first LSU game I ever attended.

That 1952 Maryland team was loaded - they were ranked #2 when LSU played them in College Park. The Tigers were out-matched, ending that season 3-7.

Why does the film for the 1952 game look like 4K compared to the late 70's games? Crazy!

When he was a freshman at LSU, E came to my school (Sherwood forest elementary) and spoke to the entire student body. It was then they my favorite number was #5. Jeff Wickersham became my second favorite player 7 years later. Csb

Was just about to say, he could really sling it with ease

I've actually never seen him throw before, so that was cool
Way more athletic than I thought

He and Gajan were guests at a banquet for my Pee Wee BREC football team in 1978.
