WASHINGTON — Attorney General William P. Barr has assigned an outside prosecutor to scrutinize the criminal case against President Trump’s former national security adviser Michael T. Flynn, according to people familiar with the matter.

The review is highly unusual and could trigger more accusations of political interference by top Justice Department officials into the work of career prosecutors.

Barr made the decision after reviewing a document John Durham obtained from a cooperating official in his broader review of the origins of crossfire hurricane.

So how is it not political when the criminal case itself revolves around politics

I don't see how this gets resolved before November 2020, so Trump has to win re-election or this gets swept under the rug.

Great. More outside prosecutors to sit on their hands and run out the clock. What's John Huber up to these days?

Another stall tactic investigation that will take just long enough until they drive Trump out or JFK him.

Evidently Durham's report is 1)brings to light crossfire hurricane, and 2)shows that some biased Dem. partisanship has been running rampant through the trial of Flynn and other Republican people. If I am reading this right, then Barr is re-investigating all of the dubious charges and judgements since just before the Trump presidency.

This is one of my favorite tactics of the NYT and other MSM.

No one was talking about such accusations until the NYT includes it in the article itself. Self-fulfilling prophecy.
