I know way more than you about sports. It's not just about picking games.... It's about knowing how to blow someone off the table in a debate.

C'mon man. I hate Dook as much as any team in sports, I mean they're right there with the Cowboys and the Yank-Sox. But you're trying way too hard...

Certainly, Duke is Duke.

They're on T.V. more than Leave it to Beaver reruns.

Yup. ESPN rides Duke, the Pats, the Cowboys, and the Yankees. And people watch. They win.

For X’s and O’s, he is great at preparation but doesn’t do as great a job on the fly. He still has some great games like last year’s Louisville game where he started pressing and eliminated a huge Louisville lead, but that’s not always a common occurrence.

My biggest critique is probably his complete aversion to zone defense until 2017.

Also, Cam Reddish has a high recruiting ranking but it’s always been one of the most puzzling things. The guy is supposed to the perfect three and d wing, yet he shot 29 percent from 3 in high school and has had bad stats in college and the NBA. It’s bewildering.

No one thinks he was a particularly good college player, certainly not top 3 on anything based on stats or actual results.

Coach K is the greatest of all-time, like it or not.

Do you know how hard it is to win one NCAA championship in a 64-field sudden-death tournament?

He has 5 championships. He's a great coach, period.

Especially since basketball (as opposed to say football) has a lot more variance, particularly with 3-point shooting and officiating. All it takes is the favorite to have a bad shooting night, the underdog to have a good shooting, or a combination of both for an upset to become much more likely. In addition, all it takes is the officials to call a game that favors the underdog (let them play vs. call lots of fouls) and/or the favorite to have their star player(s) in foul trouble and a upset becomes much more likely.

Not to mention, sometimes an underdog can be just a bad matchup for the favorite. Granted they weren’t the favorites, but it’s like the Cavs with Kevin Love against the Warriors. The Warriors were probably the one team that he didn’t cause them to have a matchup problem. Not only that, there were probably the one team that gave him the matchup problem.

You listed all those classes not winning the NC as being the biggest reasons for your claim.

I submit this: he lost in the Sweet Sixteen to the Legendary John Brady.

No he didn’t if you’re discussing K. Duke had been in Final 4 in 78 and every decade since 40’s. They were down but they weren’t a nothing.

A single elimination tournament is such a shitty way to decide a champion in basketball. These threads seem to pop up every year around this time (usually about Calipari).

The only thing separating Cal and Coach Polish is pretense. We know Cal’s players get paid to come to Kentucky. He’s all but admitted so. But he doesn’t come out and act like some pious, holy, goody two shoe like Coach Rat does and go on and on about integrity and the love of the game and all that pompous bullshite.

Everything that goes on behind the scenes at Kentucky under Cal has been going on for decades at Duke, yet no one calls them out on it. That and they magically get 90%+ of the supposed 50/50 calls.

And before you say I’m mad or jealous, check the box score on what happen the last time them little Dookies played THE REAL CAROLINA.
