All Relation is arguably the best right now, but only if you're interested in New England style IPAs and pastry stouts

It unnessearily bothers me that breweries are ranked based on a few trendy styles. No one likes you unless you make the same NEIPA or superfruited kettle sour.

Is that so?! Wow. I had no idea. That’s awesome.

All Relation is my fave brewery in the state but didn’t know any of this. I am just plotting to bring a big purse and steal one of the stemmed glasses they don’t sell.

Guilty as charged. I don’t care how basic it makes me. Give me a hazy NE any day.

Is Port Orleans really worse than Second Line?

In my opinion, much worse.

Agreed but they are both in the lower tier for the city. There is a clear line between the other breweries and Second Line/Port Orleans.

I more or less agree with you -- a brewery that can nail several styles has more appeal to me than a "hype" brewery. But it's a business, and what sells, sells. And A|R does their thing really well. It would be great if they could also do a really good saison, or some fun mixed fermentation things, but that's not their focus right now and I understand that. They do have a saison, wheat beer, and some lagers (not sure if they are properly lagered, tbh), but none are particularly impressive to me. I'm still really glad they're in the market because they will help it progress, and they're just generally great people in my interactions with them. Easy to root for people in the industry that you genuinely like. You can't say that for everyone.

Tried Miel and All Relation this weekend. Both great places. Thanks for the recommendations.

AR had great beer. Really mastered the few beers they have. Impressive. Loved the trendy/hip vibe they have. Neighborhood seems a bit sketchy though.

Miel had some really really good beer. There were one or two that were okay at best, but the others were really good. Much more of a laid back and fun place. Really enjoyed hanging out there. Will definitely be back.
