Just a heads up. They stop the draw down back on Jan 15. The lake is about 3-4' low, but filling fast.

did they finish the dredging on the south end? I haven't seen any activity at the Sand Bar launch. did they move activity to the North end?

They started at the north and moved to the south end in early January.

then what was the barge and orange floats I saw down on the south end last fall? I never could figure out what they were doing. And the launch as the Sand Bar appeared to be out of commission while they were there.

They dredged at the north end until they ran out of storage area for the dredge material. They still had some money on the contract so they moved everything to the south end to clear out some material outside of Bayou Chenal and pumped it on top of the island to fill in where the other material had settled from the previous dredging on the south end.

gotcha, thanks. I wondered where they were pumping the material down on the south end.

So can you launch at the sand bar and la express now?

Level is at 13.8 now. Normal pool stage is between 15.5 and 16. Sandbar was shut down because they started dropping trailers off the end. I would imagine that it would be open now, but I would still launch with extreme caution assuming it is open. LA Express is probably still closed. The owner of the launch dredged out some of the area to the end of his dock, but I don't think they did anything beyond that. They dredged the area outside of Jim's but unless he got in there and moved some material in his slip, it is probably still out of commission also.

Don't know. The landing in New Roads had some of the launch still blocked yesterday. They don't have it all block.

I saw a boat that looked like it had launched from the Sand Bar on Saturday when I was on my way back from Tractor Supply. Had a bunch of people at the little bar/hut area on the dock. Didn't see any barricades blocking the launch.

Launch at Morels is good to go, some smaller rigs were able to launch out of there through the whole drawdown. Water level is coming up a good bit, not much if any dry land around the sea walls any longer.

They got a huge grant to try and make it a bass trophy lake again, they lower the water level to get silt out of the flats and to "try to get grass" to grow again

They went on grass killing rampage and destroyed the fishing. Just like usual. Bunch of idiots. “ Hey let’s kill all the grass and destroy the fishing here at this place as well!” (Insert every lake they have ruined in the past 15 years
