Well he fricking should be.

If you’re not innovating and progressing, you’re dying on the vine.

Linehan’s offenses have been stale in the dinosaur NFL for years and years.

Wow. We just hired an NFL OC as our PASSING GAME COORDINATOR. Not even a QB or WR coach.

Even if he only holds the position for one or two years until another young coach comes along, it is a home run hire.

Former coach of 4 teams = failure. Some of the comments in that Twitter post are brutal. We are being majorly laughed at for this hire. Why do we keep hiring coaches that nobody else wants? Maybe we can ditch Linehan before the 2021 season.

wuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuut?

are you this dumb?

Bo had some real good defenses at NU. they were listed with his great D's here. Do you even pay attention or just lazily push an agenda?

Two failed OC’s combined is not better than one failed OC. Sorry.

I'll allow it, Scott coached Daunte Culpepper, Stafford, and Dak to their best passing seasons as pros dude OBVIOUSLY knows how to coach quarterbacks to submit prolific performances, people are gonna object to this hire well frick em because they don't know anything about football and are slaves to recency bias maybe they can get a fricking job

He was head coach of the Rams from 2006-2008 with downhill records of 8-8, 3-13, 4-14, before he was fired. Maybe he's learned from past mistakes and has a binder to show during the job interview just like O.

This is an uninspired awful hire.

This is nonsense. He's not the HC. He's not even the OC. He's the PGC - a glorified QB or WR coach.

And his NFL experience, specifically in the area we need is pretty impressive. I'm more concerned about his not having coached in college (and recruited/dealt with college kids) in 20 years, rather than all this irrelevant "failure" Rantards are queefing about.

Failures don't have 30-year coaching careers.

I mean, his sister-in-law is married to Jesus. How can we go wrong with bloodlines like that?

Yes and a failure here

Calling Kragthorpe a failure after he came down with a debilitating disease is beyond pathetic.

And Brady was unknown at saints but this guy will be pass game coordinator, but why didn't LSU hire someone young?

Wish I had gotten in on this earlier. Been busy at work all day and evening.

This melt is eerily similar to the E hire. How did that end up working out? And if you're going to argue that the Brady hire saved the E hire, I would reply, whatever, we ended up national champions in only 2 seasons.

Assembling a coaching staff is often similar to recruiting players. Sometimes is as more about filling needs than splashy hires. Also, what about all of the key analysts they hired that most of us knew nothing about before this year? I'm not saying O is infallible but he's earned the benefit of the doubt for now from me.

It will be interesting to see how O follows up a NC and brutal coaching exodus. Will he stumble or will he reload and make another run?

Except that Linehan isn’t the OC, and Les Miles isn’t controlling the offense. But you’re right. Totally identical besides that

LSU doesn’t need a 30 year old to teach NFL passing concepts. What Brady did last season was great but it wasn’t some big secret what he was doing

Offense is installed, people. We dont need someone to reinvent the wheel.
If Steve Ensminger doesn't know the "Brady Offense" after being attached at the hip with him for a year, then God help us all!

I don't think Orgeron would have hired Linehan if he wasn't comfortable with what he heard in the interview and certainly don't think he would ever get into another Matt Canada type situation.

I'm sure we'll run what we ran last season with a few Linehan additions to the Gumbo mix.

All the Rant Virgin Geeks are freaking out because SL is not young enough for their requirements. (Just like Pelini)

We have a hell of a lot of experience on this Staff now. There shouldn't be any reason for a decline. (All that being said, I would have preferred a Lombardi hire)……….
