Sleeping on Kole Taylor

I know top billin had Arik Gilbert moving to the other side of the football ie, Marcus Spears. He had the right idea but wrong player my guess is that
Kole Taylor will be the one moving to the defense side of the ball. Arik has made it clear that he wants to play offense while Kole played both sides of the ball in high and is listed at 6'7 putting on muscle mass won't be an issue I'll be surprise if in a year he's not the SEC best line man.... disagree.. I know it's coming

Kole is going to be very exciting! Arik and Kole in the red zone will be hell to defend.

I hate to be the guy that breaks it to you but LSU has decided to score points and a lot of them. Burrow has spoken, “we will score 40,50,60 points a game”. He wasnt joking. Saying that, we are finally committed to maximizing our talent on both sides of the ball so the question is, will Kole Taylor score is more points than he would prevent, if he played defense. My bet is that he plays offense. He’s more of a typical TE while Gilbert can play TE, in the slot or wideout. Besides, there’s nothing wrong with running a 2 TE set if both your TE’s are studs. You could like it up and pound the running game or flex out and run the spread, all without changing personnel. By the time Kole Taylor is ready, Marshall and Chase will be headed out. That’ll give you a 6’6 and a 6’7 receiving target to go with elite speed in Palmer and Boutte.

He is needed far more at TE than he is at DE. If he hits the strength program hard being already enrolled in school he very well could be 2nd string as a true freshman. Pettigrew just seems to be destined for a reserve role.

Considering Arik wants to be a WR not a true TE, I kind of find it hard to believe he’d want to play DE.
My $0.02.
My $0.02.

He’s 6’7” and 220.
He would have to put on 70 pounds to be a Dlinemen

So you would be surprised if a tall skinny incoming freshman TE was not the best d lineman in the SEC a year from now? Are you related to Kole?

I actually thought we should have processed Taylor but the more I dug the more I fricking love this kid. Let me hit y’all with some facts real quick
TE1:
6’7” 228lb
4.63 - 40
32.6” vert
TE2:
6’5” 253lb
4.73 - 40
34.6” vert
Much like Juice, Gilbert plays much faster than his 40 time. As his fluidity, athleticism and ball skills are simply unmatched. With that said- Taylor has very real potential. Not Gilbert potential but kid could play on sundays.

Kole’s surprising fluent as a receiver. great athlete

I agree with some that have said Arik will be a great TE but may be a 1st round talent as a DE. SO be a WR and get drafted maybe or play defense and be a 1st rounder.

That might be one of the dumbest things I've ever heard

You'll be SURPRISED if a three star tight end isn't the BEST lineman in the entire SEC?

Wrong. We need TE’s more than DE’s, and Taylor can develop into a good one.
Posted on 2/10/20 at 9:46 am to Lsu4lifer
he will play, way too talented, we will run two TE sets with speedsters on the outside and the TE's going over the middle... two 6'7 big guys going over the middle will reak havoc on defenses... Kole and ARik are both great players, the coaches will find a way to get them both on the field.

Or maybe...Gilbert moves to defense...and a Taylor becomes a pretty good tight end .
