With last year's incident, does it make Wade less desirable to other teams? I'm hoping it does. I want him to be here for the long haul. If last year hadn't happened, I think we may need to worry about him leaving, but maybe now we can hold onto him. Sure hope so. It's nice to be relevant in basketball.

I mean it really depends on the support he gets financially and the buy in from the fans on how long he stays right now we aren’t doing it we need to renovate the Pmac and fill it up

Only a true blue blood could take him from us but even then they'd have to outbid us. Plus I don't see the advantage of him going to a place with higher expectations than what we have. Its not like he will get recruits at those places that he can't get at LSU. He's already getting highly sought after recruits and if he shows that his program is consistent, he'll start pulling in more top 10 type guys.

I think he is here as long as we want him here.

As they were saying on the radio yesterday, the only way he'd leave for a comparable program is because of lack of fan support. If someone like Duke, Kansas, etc. comes calling, there's not much you can do. But we should not lose him to a lateral move. We need to give him what he wants and fan support needs to increase to Auburn-type levels.

I'm doing my part and going to see them tomorrow.. albeit at Vanderbilt. But still supporting!

He's going to want some facility upgrades and LSU should be able to accommodate since the TV contract is about to go way up.

The scandal definitely hurts him short term.
Over time though, if he survives it and stays clean, I think a blue blood will definitely show interest.

He'll stay until right before the NCAA guts the program.

He's been saying that since day one and brought it up again on his show last night.

At some point he's going to get tired of talking about it.

Not sure why you got so many downvotes but I'd say this is pretty accurate. With the season Wade had last year and this year most teams would be knocking down the door to get him right now (or coming up soon), with the FBI incident, I bet most if not all big name schools have backed off for time being. In that weird way, the FBI thing worked to our favor.

I think Wade is stuck at LSU for a long time. A blue blood is not going to come knocking after the FBI scandal.

Why would Wade want to go anywhere else?? LSU, aside from KY, has more regular season championships (11) than any other SEC school and 3 of the top 50 players ever. We have tradition and can certainly maintain relevancy in basketball.
Just win baby and the fans will support the program.
Historically, our success in basketball is sporadic and years between relevance. Let’s hope this is the start to a PROGRAM!!!

The facility upgrades and the basketball fan interest are going to be interesting to see in the next couple of years. What if a lucrative ACC or Big 10 job became open, would he stay or leave?

More money and fan support, I mean, the obvious things

But we dont really have to worry about that right now, or probably even after this season, could maybe get interesting after next season if the FBI thing totally blows over.

The one I'm worried about is UNC... Roy Williams looks tired and somewhat disinterested this year, if he retires could UNC give Wade a look?

Feel like that would be hard for him to pass up

What teams though? There aren't many programs that would be a step up from LSU. Why couldn't Wade be our Billy Donovan? (we can't do anything if the NBA comes calling) or our coach K? (Duke hadn't been a consistent winner since the 60's before K got there.) Why is it inevitable that he leaves for a bigger program?

Maybe I'm naive but I trust Woodward to make the upgrades needed and to keep Wade at LSU for the long haul.

Yeah me either?? This post was supposed to be a positive post. Basically saying even though the end of last year sucked, it seems like for the long-term it was a positive for the program and our chances to keep Wade.

Kind of like Kentucky didn't go after Calipari?

He's put two schools on probation (including vacating a Final Four and national championship game appearance) and still landed at Kentucky.
