re: In one of Burrow's post season interviews one comment sticks out the most to me.

His preparation and pre-snap reads are huge parts of his success as is his toughness and competitiveness. That said, the biggest part of his game that is overlooked is...
FOOTWORK.
I don’t think people realize how hard it is to chain your base (feet) to your eyes and your progressions. Go back through the season and try to find a time when Burrow threw off his back foot from the pocket. Just didn’t happen. On the throws where he went through 2, 3, 4+ progressions, he was having to make changes to his base on every look. It’s incredibly tough to do when your internal clock is also running due to pressure. The guy is a fundamental dynamo.

He never threw off his back foot because of poor footwork, but there were times he threw off his back foot because it was the only way to throw the pass.
The 3rd and 17 against Texas he threw with his body twisting.
The play against Vanderbilt he threw off his back foot due to pressure from 2 Vanderbilt players and Chase went up and Mossed the defender for a big catch.

You are right. Burrow mentioned this at the beginning of the season how much he worked on this footwork during the off season and how it led to him becoming a much improved passer. But he didn't talk much if any about it toward the end of this season probably because it started becoming second nature to him. But preparation for an opposing team is an every day/week thing.

I’m not sure why this isn’t brought up more. Burrow said he worked hard on his footwork in the off season.
