I have convinced myself that this is THE year. Lets get it on.

So who would you peg to break the starting lineup first? Hampton or C Doughty?
Posted on 2/4/20 at 3:21 pm to ColeLSU
Doughty because he's the better hitter right now
Hampton reminds me a ton of Jared Mitchell's career path. First year will struggle and look silly at times but by year 2 and 3 the tools will show out.

I don’t think Hal has 70 throw. More like 60

I'm more surprised about the 40 on power and hitting, seems more like a 25 range there

Fair enough

I oversold him so much last year that I wanted to gradually go back down my bell curve. I'm hoping he proves me wrong.

He could hit the long ball that's all chicks care about anyway.
Gaudet was 100% on steal attempts. Let’s not forget that.

Hal Hughes has above average speed? I’m not one to obsessively bash Hughes, but really? Maybe my perception is skewed by the abundance of very fast players over the years.

Slighty above average at that. It's hard to gauge at times because he was never on base a year ago.

He's definitely not in that range of fast outfielders that have come and gone
Posted on 2/5/20 at 7:43 am to Adam4848
Or fast shortstops. He has the ability to run slower on slow dribblers up the middle almost always missing an infield single by a full step. Id give him a 45 for speed, but thats me being nitpicky

I’d probably put him closer to 45 than 55 as well. The trouble is trying to gauge his speed on say, beating out a ground ball compared to Broussard. Is Broussard that much faster or is Hughes just that much slower?

Really excited about New Mathis. He’s showing a lot more power than expected.
