If this comes to be true...

And Drew does happen to retire...

The executive board gets wiped out......

Does sean Payton push to void his contract?

I think a lot of fans will cancel season tickets

At the end of the day, is it of the fans’ best interest for Gayle Benson to sell the team?

This is like tripping over a curb and suing the city to redo the entire street.

The thing about this pre-trial evidence thing is that the lawyers can say whatever the frick they want about "potential evidence" that they think will help their cause. And news folks like the AP can just print that shite because a lawyer said it.

You are clutching your pearls over a headline and an article which gives zero concrete evidence regarding what was said and/or done.

Why did the church have the responsibility of releasing names?

Why wasn't that in the hands of some government authority?

Covering up past names (most of whom were deceased in that list) isn't helping covering up the crimes per se or letting criminals walk.

Chad, you are sick & misguided to attempt to defend this in the name of football & religion.

Having children & thinking these allegations are trivial is kind of sad.

Holy crap, man. Gayle B would never sell the team under these circumstances. She’ll keep the team for Tom’s memory, if nothing else.

Tom and Gayle, I’m sure, we’re shaken and appalled by the abuse of children, but they have a lot of faith in the Church as a whole,
and I suspect that Gayle has justified the PR
assistance to the Archdiocese in her mind as for the overall good . That assistance didn’t let anyone off the hook, as far as I can tell.

I haven't followed this story in great detail but covering up the names of pedos in the New Orleans Archdiocese is what the Saints front office is accused of?

Lester... really easy to put it.

Whoever is looking at this. The Victims...change their last name to yours. Watch your children be born, love and raise them. Let this be about your children from the victims viewpoint. Then from that viewpoint how do you feel about the catholic church and the Saints...

That's enough for me...but it's not a good look for the Saints. But I would love to see the emails and pass judgement then. But this is way above sports are the church.

It's about predators that prey on children and what is just. Impailing them on metal spears on the four corners of the french quarter. To show what will be your judgement for your crimes against kids. I would volunteer to put them up on those spears..

Hope the emails show something different...

Same way I have thus far...THERE IS NOTHING to base an opinion on other than a story with allegations from lawyers, who represent plantiff's in a CIVIL TRIAL.

I'll wait to make judgement

But trying to convince some of you to do the same appears to be pointless....like a mob with torches

I'll lead us down Airline Drive Myself! We are a laughing stock at this point. Noone thinks we are innocent on the field or off. Neither the NFL or other fanbases or leadership. Even Houston does not respect us. And that is low!

The church's disclosure is actually the exact opposite of that. It's disclosing names of accused.

You see this backwards because you are unable to get out from under your social views.

You've equated the church disclosing accused clergy with a coverup.

This effort within the church is exactly the opposite.

You’re right, they’ve been totally forthcoming lol

IWhat do you think this alleged issue is about, again? Did we read the same article?

Again, you are conflating previous acts with this one.

Yes, I read the article. I recognized that this is a charge meant to achieve a goal by an attorney. And, you were absolutely taken by the hysterical charges of coverup but didn't even slow down enough to actually realize what is going on here.

No matter what you think of the church (irrelevant), or the behavior of some clergy (obviously dispicable), or whether or not their action are sufficient (reasonably debatable), this act of disclosure is by definition a step towards transparency. It's meant to bring transparency when, historically, that didn't exist. And, apparently, Gayle and the Saints played some role in assisting the Church from a PR standpoint to make it happen.

You are acting like the Saints and the Church have made decisions to hide the names of specific individuals. What's happening is that they have drawn the line in the sand and have decided to not publish everything because they know some of these charges are bogus.

If Gayle was trying to cover up for a friend, or favorite priest, you might have a point. Instead, the Saints are actually helping move the Church towards transparency.

But, your feeble emotional little mind conflated that with the original abuses themselves and the historical coverup in the Church.
