The “scandal” at worst is a super catholic woman choosing to stick by her church in the face of the child molestation charges. Which is the same thing basically all of south Louisiana over the age of 40 did after these allegations. Gayle is just richer than all of them
I mean I’m not religious at all but how is this any different than the millions of Catholics who did and continue to attend mass and tithe after finding out what the church did?
It’s not like Gayle or the Saints actively helped perpetrate or cover up, as in hide evidence or pay hush money, these crimes.

No matter what you think of the Catholic church and what has happened, the church disclosing names of credibly accused priests is a step in the right direction. It may not be enough. It may not acknowledge enough blame. But, this was an attempt at more transparency than existed before. In other words, it's the opposite of a cover-up.
A lot of people are conflating the abuses with the disclosure. And, if the Saints were, at a high level, helping the church draw some line in the sand as to what was being disclosed, it's really not a huge deal...exept for people like yourself who will conflate it with the abuse and blame the Saints for a coverup.
You are making it sound like the Saints were in a room suggesting that they protect Priest A, and Priest B because they are friends of the owner.
