You’re not alone :-) Cannon, 1958-59 Tiger & Tulane Stadiums - Burrow, Tiger, Phoenix, Darrel K Royal, Mercedes Benz & Superdome stadiums.

Billy Cannon worked on my teeth and that was a terrible experience.

And I saw Burrow play.

I saw Cannon in 58 and had season tickets in 59. South end zone family section. I believe my ticket as an 11 year old was 50 cents per game.

"yttdrgk", You're right. In 1958 LSU had a difficult time filling Tiger Stadium (again, the first sell-out was the '58 game against Ole Miss). To encourage fans to attend the games they offered a family plan. Adult tickets were $4.00 and children could get in for 50 cents.

That’s awesome. Been bringing my grandson for a few years now and he’s 9. Cool that he may remember this season. Just missed Burrow’s towel after the Auburn game. We’ll keep showing him the video.

What was it like watching it in black and white before they invented colors?

Damn, you were my current age in 1993 and to me that seems like a month ago. Time flies.

I saw Pistol Pete and Joe Burrow in person if that comes in second. I have autographs that I personally got from both. I got the Maravich autograph after a game at the Cow Palace.

One more subtle brag. The company I worked for used the bank Warren Morris works for. I was able to visit with him for about 10 minutes in his office and talk about his baseball career. He’s very humble. I did walk away from that with a signed baseball. That pretty much completes my personal LSU sports heroes trifecta.

I saw Y.A. Tittle play as a freshman tailback against Tulane in Tiger Stadium. He was 14-18 that day, his best passing percentage as Tiger. LSU won 25-6, finishing 2-5 on the season. LSU went to the T formation the next season and had a 7-2 record, and set a school record for average yard for rush. Ray Coates (Jesuit High) and Dan Sandifer (Byrd High) were the starting halfbacks. Red Knight (Bossier High) was the fullback. End Clyde Linsdey was the MVP. They were 9-1 in 1946 and went to the Cotton Bowl. Injuries crippled the Tigers in 1947, Tittle's senior year. Ole Miss won the SEC in Vaught's first season, beating LSU 20-18 in Tiger Stadium. Charley Connerly passing to Barney Poole was an unstoppable combination for the Rebels. Tittle intercepted a Connerly pass and had his "Joe Burrow moment". He had blockers in front of him about the OM 35 when a Reb player tried to tackle Y.A and broke the belt to his pants. As his pants slipped down, Tittle held the ball with one hand and his pants with the other. Ole Miss caught him. The Rebels held and won the game and the SEC title. I was a boy scout and ushered at the game. I was 12 years old at the time.
