Best DC hire we could have made.

Anyone who doubts Pelini as a DC has not really watched the teams he put together at LSU. People this is an incredible hire.

That’s not how it works. It’s not like we fired Aranda to hire Pelini

Well... one is an actualy option one is the HC at Baylor.if you think Aranda is the best, everyone is a step down

I like Pelini. He had some good defenses.

I dont See and hires that and guaranteed to work out better.

Build the DL and he’ll succeed.

Having Aranda isn't an option so why are you asking who we'd rather have? Pelini was an elite DC for us. What exactly don't you like about the hire and who could we have gotten that was better suited for the job?

I'm biased towards Aranda just because of his proven success while at LSU but I think Pelini will do a great job

Aranda 4 Life. I like the more cerebral types and trust them to adapt more to changing offenses in college football.

But I'm happy with Pelini. Our energy level on the sidelines is going to be nuclear

Aranda left to get a HC job. Your post is very stupid. Bo is a damn good DC taking over for DC that helped win us a championship just like Bo helped us win one last decade.

Should we have held Aranda's family hostage?

I'm convinced that regardless of who LSU hired, the rant will find a way to spin it to sound like a genius hire. Might as well go with the flow and enjoy being on top. We the champs!

Pelini may be a downgrade, but the choice was not between Pelini and Aranda. Aranda is gone. Who would be better than Pelini?

You may be able to rattle off a name or two, but it will be a short list. We will do fine with Pelini.

i would still like this turnout even if it meant firing aranda to do it

aranda has been mailing it in the second half of many games and often doesnt seem to have any plan until mid second quarter when playing good teams.

we won a NC in spite of aranda not because of him

yes he was, and is a good DC, but for some reason after last year he wasnt motivated any more to work hard here to put up the best defense and IMHO its because as soon as he wasnt the center of attention and seen as the reason we were winning he got the DGAF attitude about it and he needed to be replaced because he wasnt committed and was more focused on moving on

Aranda. Doesn’t mean pelini hire was in any way bad or we can’t win a title with him running the D. I just feel that Aranda’s ability to make adjustments after feeling out an offense is huge in modern college football.

This is the wrong question to ask. Aranda was leaving regardless. The question is who would have been a better hire than Pelini? For me, I can't think of a better, safer hire. We have history and experience with this guy...and he was outstanding when he was here previously. What evidence is there that he won't be outstanding again?

Two different ways

Bo will call games the way LSU fans want a DC to call games. And he hollers, our fans love that shite

Both left LSU for HC gigs at P5 schools, both are proven commodities. Only difference being that Pelini showed he could win 9-10 games a year at Nebraska and Aranda is in year one as a HC. I’m equally as confident in Bo as I was Aranda to put out an elite unit on D game in and game out. I think Pelini will be more aggressive than Dave was. Would be very surprised if we aren’t a top 15 ranked total defense by next years end. I think arguing 3-4 vs 4-3 is a moot point because we’ll give multiple looks throughout the game and switch it up often.
