Either have really smart kids or make sure your kids become athletes. That’s the only way you can get into that school

1st of all, who do you know to get both of your kids into St George not being a parishioner, or even Catholic?????
We didn't know anyone. God opened the door for us and we were thankful to get in as opposed to going thru the EBR school system. Once we got my oldest in, the youngest was practically guaranteed since siblings are given a higher priority. We never even tried to get them in anywhere else.

Instead of complaining about something so stupid, you should just be grateful that you can afford to send your children to St. George and that they're doing well academically.
Your stupid and my stupid are obviously very different. I take very seriously the influence of faith in my children's lives. I openly encourage any questions they want to ask to understand, but I'm constantly finding myself telling them "we don't believe that," or "here's what we believe." Whether I'm paying $5 tuition or $10,000, I (and every parent) has a right to be concerned about my kids' faith and education. I'm extremely grateful that I can afford to send my kids there each year and that they're excelling...we're definitely blessed. God has blessed us before, and if it's His will that we stay at St. G, then we will. But, He might just end up blessing us again, too.

My granddaughter got accepted into Kindergarten at U-Lab. Of 500 applicants, 100 were accepted after interviewing. It might be too late for next school year already, but if you know someone that works for LSU or a politician, it may help expediate the process.
Godspeed!
Godspeed!

Send in an application when you first conceive your kid. Then wait in line and pray that there will be room after the grandfathered-eligible, the politically connected and other special interest group children are admitted. If your kid is not admitted then, then there is always 7th grade.
Good luck.
Good luck.

couple months ago my daughter said if she didn't go to confession for first reconciliation, then God would never forgive her sins. It's pretty frustrating to be honest. I can only imagine their confusion.
Confused about reconciliation?? I bet your daughter is not confused at all. The non-Catholic parent sounds confused. Imagine the balls of a Catholic school teaching the most basic Catholic beliefs to students. The nerve of them.

Neither do Catholics.

Try reading the Bible then (John 20:23, James 5:16, etc.).

Do you have connections to someone high up at LSU or to an elected, state level politician?
Are you a minority.
If the answer to both of these is no, don’t bother applying.

Did your family know someone for your grand daughter to get in to the lab school?

If you read my previous responses, you'd see that I've got no issue with them teaching their beliefs. None at all. I didn't expect it to be this big of a deal to my kids is all. I didn't think they'd be this bothered by being non-Catholic at a Catholic school.

Do you think the lab school change their policy and just allow kids who does well in the assessment in? I read that they have a new principal so things may have changed. I think that is a great thing if it is true.
I’m not sure, but that should be the way it is, It’s a public school.

If you have to ask, you can’t get in

So was it Catholic God that opened the door for you at St. George, or was it Healing Place God? Because I doubt Healing Place God would willingly put your kid in a place where they teach false doctrine.
Perhaps God opened the door so your kid could in time find her way back to the Mother Church.

There is just one God. I believe humans have overcomplicated the matter throughout history, and we somehow ended up with different beliefs...Baptist, Catholic, Episcopal, Lutheran, Methodist, Orthodox, etc. I don't have an issue with the different beliefs...ultimately a Catholic education is better than an EBR education in my opinion. I just don't believe what Catholics believe.
I've told my kids they're more than welcome to become a Catholic once they're mature enough to really know what that means and if they feel it gets them closer to God. In my opinion, you can't understand what that really means at 7 or 5 years old. The Catholic Church can certainly grow a lot of Catholics by starting them that early, but I want my kids to really know what it means when/if they make that decision. Not just be Catholic because they go to a Catholic school, or because their friends are Catholic, or because a family member is Catholic. Replace "Catholic" with any other religion and I still feel the same way, even if it's non-denominational like Healing Place.

It looks like we just missed deadlines for 2020-2021, but we will definitely apply for 2021-2022. Apparently, I just need to find a politician or some other connection to grease the wheels some. Lol
