We simply do not have the personnel for the vertical passing game. Get a #2 and let's ride

Justin Jefferson is the perfect number 2. Great routes. Enough speed. ELITE hands.

Tee Higgins or Bryan Edwards would be a better fit

you do realize they arent really allowed to play defense in the PB right? you do realize that right?

they are only allowed vanilla defenses with very limited blitzes and receivers get a free release off the line so no press at the LOS

its just a show game like preseason so the rules give every advantage to the offense so its entertaining. nobody wants to see a defense lock down and no scoring

I didn't see the pass, but the post following yours says
quote:

Brees threw an absolute missile

That's relevant, because conventional wisdom has been that Brees lacks the arm to throw deep anymore. Opposing defense is irrelevant to that.

How far/much velocity was on the pass?

Don't you know drew has no arm and he had a bad game in the playoffs (along with the whole team), so we should ignore he's been #2 in passer rating the last 2 years and move on to someone much, much worse. Why we should do this? I'm not sure, but we should

Thanks for that

Arm is still good, then. Higher trajectory should still be 50-60+ yds, if what you say is true.

Did he have to wind up, or did he just drop back and let'er rip?

Glorified scrimmage. Drew will be back in the probowl again next year. Saints build great probowl teams.

His deep ball became an issue due to his hand injury. He was throwing it very well against the Texans and looked great. Age hasn't kept him from throwing his deep ball like he always had in the past. The main thing I've seen age affect is his maneuvering in the pocket avoiding the pass rush.

Drew does not have the arm strength anymore. Do you think he can play a full 16 game schedule and throw deep passes in the playoffs? He did not play for 6 games and in the WC game, he could not throw a deep pass. The one he did was underthrown and intercepted. As much as I respect Drew for all he has done for the city and the franchise, he does not have the strength to take the Saints back to SB.
I was at the NFC Champ Game last year and the deep ball to Ginn at end was a bad pass. Should have been intercepted. Ginn made a great play. Then the next play Brees threw the ball at feet of Thomas on a 5 yard slant.
