My point is no way in hell is this as difficult as they proclaim. Not recovering the body but the complete demo.
Umm. This isn't taking down a water tower in the middle of a cornfield.
You are taking about taking down a building in a tight spot, a building that isn't structure sound. With tons of historic buildings, on soft dirt. If the pressure from the detonation doesn't damage the surrounding old buildings, and the falling debris somehow stays in the footprint, you still have potential ground movement.
This is a city where the construction of an underground drainage pipe caused nearby houses to shift off their foundations. What do you think will happen when they set off a "shite ton" of dynamite?
This disaster is going to have to come down piece by piece, which is why it's insane that the contractor hasn't started yet.

Latoya doing a favor for the vultures.

Highly unlikely man. All these entities carry a big primary policy, once thats exhausted you can then access the excess/umbrella coverage and some large construction companies have a "catastrophic" policy after you clean out the excess/umbrella coverage
You could exhaust Citadel’s GL and umbrella policies easily with the claims resulting from businesses affected, deaths and injuries alone.
If theyre found to be responsible for the collapse there is absolutely not enough insurance to cover the demo and after affects (equipment damaged on site, etc....)
It’s even worse IMHO if the engineer is responsible as he will likely be carrying way less insurance than the GC.
Also the City is going to eventually going to hit the developer for millions in overtime/equipment/etc and he’s going to pass that along to the GC or Engineer.

Uhhh, the poor family of the guy who's body is publicly decomposing is going to have one massive, MASSIVE, death claim. That's not even counting the other death claims.

From WWLTV:

Just hours after the city tweeted an explainer on how difficult it would be to place a new tarp over the remains of a deceased worker at the Hard Rock site, a new one was in fact put up, hiding the image that horrified city residents.

Do they still have the cable for the tarp tied around the man’s leg.
Posted on 1/22/20 at 4:58 pm to Lakeboy7
To add: DH Griffin got $5mil just to blow the 2 cranes and they’re the ones now scheduled to do the implosion. I bet that contract is $50-$100million of which the insurer will pay (and back pay Hard Rock for them fronting the $5mil for the cranes).
It will likely cost several million more for the haul off plus losses on all the equipment

Apparently if it were 1989, boudinman, kywildcatfanone and a host of others would have somehow miraculously invented a new way to remove concrete and steel from a unsecured structure overlying a central business district to remove the dead rotting body...they have yet to describe this revolutionary method though

I was down there from 11:45 to 12 today and could not see the legs with my naked eyes for some reason.
I do have pics from 12-3-19 with the red tarp up. I remember asking myself what the purpose of the red tarp was while I was there that day being that the tarp would not support fallen debris. It never occurred to me that it was covering a dead worker.

Why have they not tarred and feathered the entire Kailas/Motwani syndicate yet? Public stoning at least
