They held a 4.87 ERA in 2018, also. 13th in the SEC. What happened then?

Wait, do you think Gausman developed under Dunn?
Lange went from a 12-0 1.97 as a freshman to an 8-4 3.79 sophomore.

Gausman 6th round to 4th overall
Lange undrafted to 30th overall

He finally got it to click for Todd Peterson... that’s all I got.

Gausman was a high draft pick before he got there, he was a 3rd year the year Dunn came. You can’t give Dunn credit for someone else’s work. Dunn had nothing to do with Lange getting drafted. His numbers got worse under him.

Thats crazy. To be a starter in two major sports at a school that has 2 of the top programs in the country in their respective sports. Dude is a hell of an athlete.

I’ll take my chances with no Hampton at short, eventho he’s an outfielder, if it keeps Hughes from swinging a bat

I would put my money on Meaux being a day 1 starter in the outfield.

I think he will be the full time starting CF by the sec tournament. He will play some early then leave for spring ball then come back and eventually find his way in the lineup. His talent is good enough to overcome the miss reps.

DiGiacomo would have to make a huge freshman to sophomore jump to prevent this and I just don’t see that happening.

It depends on his hitting. If he hits he starts.

That was a long football season. I would be really impressed if started this year. My gut tells me that it's not going to happen. I hope I'm wrong.

This may just be my opinion but I don't think they're battling for the same spot right now. DiGiacomo should and will be starting in CF with Hampton getting looks in LF.

Hampton
Gio
Cabrera
Sounds like a solid outfield too me
If Gio continues to improve at the plate and can find a way to get on base consistently he’s a terror on the base paths.

Developing pitchers is not a problem. Keeping healthy is. If the pitching staf stays healthy it will be the best in the nation.

In the past few years, the pitchers that have been having injury issues have been freshmen. We've seemingly taken steps to resolve that problem by only having one freshman pitcher on the roster.

But seriously, I don't expect the same type of injury issues from last season to pop up this season.

Not sure why this got so many downvotes. It is the absolute truth.

With the exception of short stop and catcher, there is a very simple formula to starting. The best hitters with maybe a lefty/righty platoon situation, end up being the starters. Every year there are several opening day starters are replace because someone hits better than them.

Depends a lot on whether he can hit college pitching. He definitely has the glove talent.
