I gonna make a confession, was born in Houston and grew up a longhorn fan. Moved to Shreveport as a ten year old and with the local people mostly Cowboy fans and the aints being so pathetic, I still had loyalty to Texas. But when I went to go to college, in state tuition was so inexpensive and the education was so top notch, it would be foolish to go out of state. So I made my first trip to Baton Rouge ever in 1976. My roomie was in Tiger band and i was living in Johnson dorm, right next to east side of stadium. At that time any student could get in just by showing an ID. I wasn’t going to go to the game - just planned on studying. However, the dorm was not air conditioned and with all the pre-game noise it was too loud to study. So I just shut it down and walked across the street. This was LSU Nebraska opening game 1976 and the Huskers as I recall were ranked #1. I know we missed one or two fgs and should’ve won the game. The student section was insane. I had never seen anything like this. From that time on, I’ve been the truest of purple and gold LSU fan. season tickets my whole life, kids and wife all have degrees from LSU, been to a LOT of away games, too. Been to Omaha as well as Atlanta multiple times and of course, New Orleans. LSU has enriched my life and knit our family close together. We all love the Tigers. So I tell people who ask have I always been such a rabid LSU fan that no, sadly while growing up, I was a Texas fan. But of course, I grew out of that young foolishness. As I matured, I saw the error of my ways and turned my life around! Geaux Tigers! (also converted to a Saints fan 40 years ago - who dat)

1988 vs osu, ironically a game we lost. Thought we played exciting throwing the ball around everywhere

1961 season watching Jerry Stovall and company at the Orange Bowl... Mom explaining what a ‘Bowl’ game was and that Dietzel was leaving.

I was a baseball fan before football. We moved to Baton Rouge in 1991. Watching Todd Walker in 1993 vs Long Beach is my first memory tho of being a fan LINK
LSU vs FL 1997 - Storm the Field
I was a boy-scout usher. First time I ever went on the field. Also the first time I ever cared about getting a piece of grass. Field was a mess after that LINK

Yes. First game. 1984. I was 8.
LSU beat OM at home. We were sitting in the endzone and we were around a bunch of drunk fans and some students happened to be in our section.
My friend and I screamed so much we were hoarse before halftime. LSU ended up winning on an INT return for a TD. After the TD, a few drunk students/fans picked me and my buddy up and put us on their shoulders for the last minute or so of the game.
That was that.

When my parents first blind date was a LSU game

It was the afternoon of November 19. 1949. My first game in Tiger Stadium when LSU defeated Southeastern 48-7.
My dad was a student at Southeastern on the GI Bill, and we drove over to Baton Rouge in the family Studebaker for the game. I had already seen a few games at Berry Stadium in Hammond, but attending that game in Tiger Stadium made me a fan for life.

I was four years old in 1972 and living in Kentucky. A friend was visiting from South Carolina and everyone was making fun of his accent. (Like hill-billies can actually do that.) His grandmother said, "Oh, Davis. You're really a Kentucky boy."
So I went home later and asked Dad if I was a Kentucky boy too. He said. "Heck no! You're an LSU Tiger!"
I asked, "What's an LSU Tiger?"
To answer the question, we watched LSU and Ole Miss play later that night, and when Bert Jones threw it to Davis with one second left on the clock, and Jackson kicked the PAT to beat Ole Miss 17-16, I became an LSU Tiger just like my dad before me. I've never looked back.

TD pass vs A&M
That was my first ever game in Death Valley. I was a freshman in Tigerband and will NEVER forget playing my first Pre-Game on the field! I still get chills remembering that game and walking from the band hall back to my dorm in South Stadium afterwards.

Unfortunately, I was not born into it. Was a casual fan until the day we knocked off #1 Florida in BR (97). Became hooked for life that night. All eyes on #3.

Named after two players with the same first name on the roster. So, a few months before birth.
