I would say that website is ill-informed. I don't believe LSU is actually in the running at all.

If LSU were to go after a grad transfer, I believe it would be one that could go through spring ball.

LSU has three quality QBs already. Brennan will probably be hard to displace.

Ok did not know that. May the best man win!

My post wasn't a shot at Brennan. He could come in and do fine.

But just pointing out, in 2018 King had 36 TD passes and 14 rushing TDs, so he's certainly proved more than Brennan at this point, but yes it could be argued that he did so because he had the opportunity Brennan hasn't had which would be true.

Yeah odds for the spot he is most likely to land means nothing....247 crystal ball guy has LSU too.

Those were his 2018 stats.

I doubt we go after him unless whatever new offense if we do that for 2020 can somehow work what he does in very well. Still think I'd rather a QB like Brennan who has a high ceiling passing the ball. Gotta be able to pass to win at highest level. It is not one of King's best attributes, he's more run to setup pass like Jalen Hurts.

I’m sure everyone on here said they also wanted Myles Brennan 2 years ago when Burrow transferred

It's pretty amazing how it feels like 90% of the posters here are against a transfer coming in after what we just witnessed.

How does that make Burrow look like a bum? Am I missing something?

If Myles is as prepared as he needs to be, he will quietly but effectively earn the role and lead the team. He has the advantage of already having been around to develop the relationships. Now he just has to go grab the job.

If he can’t, he wasn’t the right guy anyway.

So if O brings King in you don’t think he knows what’s best for the team? If that did happen then it would be obvious that they don’t think Brennan can do it so everyone should just accept it at that point. I personally don’t think King will come here but if O did bring him in then I would trust that decision.

Not every transfer is Joe Burrow. I was perfectly fine bringing in Burrow. Dude was behind an elite set of QBs at OSU, they probably had the greatest collection of QB talent ever there. He clearly could have done something.

Burrow made all the sense in the world since Brennan was still developing and a bean pole 2 years back. Narcisse was clearly damaged goods and McMillian was not a power 5 starter. We needed a power 5 starter then and got one. I'm not sure we NEED one with Brennan around now, 4 years in school next year, 2 years behind Burrow, clearly a guy who can toss the rock.

King is a bit different in we've seen what he can do already, and IMO isn't a great fit for the offense if we plan to keep it similar. To win in today's game you have to be able to throw the football very well and it's not something King excels at. He's very similar to Jalen Hurts. He could win you a lot of games but he isn't winning you a championship against a handful of good defenses unless you have a defense to really shut down everyone or have a lot of other players who can really pick things up. Hurts played in 5 playoff games and was garbage in 4 of them, getting benched in 1 of them. Why? Because he couldnt throw the football effectively and his elite running aspect didn't help out nearly enough.

Trust in O. I'd love for LSU to have King, but I don't see him coming here. From King's perspective he would have to beat a more established player with experience in the system and the signee/transfer numbers might not even work out.

King will want a guarantee. Dont see him coming here to compete for the job.

I am absolutely fine with bringing him in. Coach O isn't going to just give him the job should he come here, and I personally believe Myles is better for what we wanna do. Let those 2 battle it out and we'll hopefully get the better of the 2. Brennan would probably benefit from having legit competition instead of just being given the starter job.

This could all be true, but there are still more question marks about how good Brennan can be at this point.

And as I said, if the coaches bring in King, they are giving you the answer to whether Brennan can excel....meaning they don't think he can if we bring in King.
